  1. Hey Kiwi Subbie, My local Subaru mechanic is none other than Snow Mooney, Possum's rally mechanic during his first couple of seasons with the Subarus. I'm not sure if he was around during the 84/85 season where Possum got the works drive but I could ask him for some info if you like. I'm pretty sure he worked with Possum from 81-84ish
  2. A bit further away, a company in New Zealand called SUB4 modifies EA81s (and probably other subaru engines) for Aero use. Their modified EA81 features a high compression cylinder head with twin ports for both intake and exhaust, twin spark per cylinder and a bunch of other goodies. I'm not sure on the prices, but when the Kiwi dollar weakens (which it unfortunately inevitabley will) it could possibly be an option for you US guys. http://www.autoflight.co.nz/dominator/features.php
  3. I'd like to know the degree of difficulty in fitting a factory EA81 twin-carb intake manifold onto an EA81 engine that was originally single carb. By degree of difficulty, I mean will it line up and bolt on with minimal fuss or will some modifications be required. I'm not concerned about the other twin carburettor related stuff just yet (linkages etc), as long as the twin carb manifold fits I should be able to do the rest with some help. Thanks
  4. Thanks mate. It's a real credit to the previous owners. I simply do my best to maintain it's condition
  5. Hi everybody!.......... (Hi Dr Nick!) Sorry I just couldn't help myself there. Anyway, I'm on the otherside of the world to most of you guys, way down here in Subaru-filled New Zealand. Here's what I drive everyday: A 1982 Subaru 1800 GLF-5 This is what I look like after driving it: I've browsed this website for some time now and thought I'd better register as it's such a great resource and the people on here have a lot of knowledge. If you'd like to know anything else about me/the car etc, just ask:) Thanks
