  1. I got the cutest thing ever! foot-shaped pedals chrome and black - so cute. 10 minutes and I got them in place - looks so cool! Will take a picture of it when I get a chance. Also got small compass to the dashboard and a digital clock (which I got to cover some hole, but it is SO not in the correct size for it :-\ ) I like the pedals! and it was only 16$! about the fire extingwisher - everyone here should carry one in his car by law and the tools I got in this car are enought to take the car all apart and re-attached Thanks for the help guys! BlueSoob - got some stickers for me?
  2. Oh yeah, I've recently installed a decent CD player and nice speakers... "Psycho Killer" never sounded better. Tonight I will pay a visit to Auto Depot - Might find a cute compass to installed there - maybe they will have a tachometer as well (although I doubt it, it is Israel after all...)
  3. So I'm a bit bored, and u guys here all made me like my brat even more in the past week or so. Now I am looking for small add-on's to make it more... friendly to me. I am not looking for engine enhancements, but more like accessories. The black cover for the bed looks amazing - saw one on ebay for 200$ or so, I dont even wanna think about shipment cost to Israel and I also emailed this guy who makes stickers for brats - 130$ including shipment to Israel... It looks like I'm gonna stick with the small accessories then.. I wanna start by adding tachometer, I just love to see the RPM going up Now - which one should I get? I saw a link with about 1 zillion kinds of. Does anyone here have a specific kind I should use? and also, where is the best place to attach it to - Dashboard? Any idea for small accessories will be welcome.
  4. as a girl, I would have to say "Take it off!" The car looks so much better without it... It just looks bad.
  5. No idea, but I think it isn't. This is why I didnt bring one from the US... There is no sense what so ever here in Israel when it comes to traffic regulations...
  6. It is illegal here in Israel to get on the road without a tailgate... can't drive this way. I thought also about the annoying noise... dunno yet.
  7. I'm affraid I didnt explain myself very well - I am not talking about chains instead of the whole tailgate (although it did cross my mind in some point, b4 I found a tailgate) - I'm talking about how to secure the tailgate, when the original hinges are missing, and I want to secure it, apart from the main lock. Or maybe u were just giving me a different idea? Thanks anyway
  8. OK, so mine is loose. meaning the hinge in missing. Now, I can get the original hinge from a junkyard, but I thought about something more creative, like a small chain to connect both sides. What do u think? would it look nice? (I am sure I wasnt the first to think of this option... has anyone here done such a thing b4?)
  9. Hey Roi, just been wondering to myself whether I am the only one from Israel here - glad to find out I am not PS Made my own gallery as well... http://community.webshots.com/user/rinatma Check out the Misc Brats album as for the campers I told u about...
  10. I have some pics for u guys. can anyone please upload them for me?
  11. "I heard that there are alot of Peugeuot cars there also. The 1980's 505's and I think some 506's" --> There used to be quite a lot of these here, but not anymore. It is very rare to see them on the road these days.... "What do you mean by "closed in the back"..... I'm not getting a mental image of what you're describing - do you mean it has a camper top on the back? Commonly refered to as a "topper" or "camper shell" or just "truck cap" here in the US" --> I guess we mean the same (my lousy english again), camper top, but as far as I know these were made here in Israel, so I am not sure u have the same there in the US. I had one originaly on my brat when I bought it (this is how 80% of the brats are here in Israel) but I got rid of it, not before I spent 2 month looking for that rear gate... I will go out soon for a pizza, I will take my digital camera with me, and if I'll spot any brat with a top, I'll get a picture for u guys. Pizza, anyone?
  12. This is how it looks on mine. It used to have long rear bumper if I am not mistaken, but not anymore... 2 bad pics can only be 50KB
  13. Well. u might be interested in this: There are 2 brats for sell in this weekend newspaper one is 1994 - the guy wants about 3K for it, but I guess it is negotiable. (common price for a brat in a good condition here in Israel is around 2500$ or even less) The second one is 1991 - and got no price (also it is closed in the back, if u know what I mean... not sure if this convertion is popular in the US as well) anyone interesting in me getting more details?
  14. hmmm... how did u get out of this situation? How do u get the pic appear in its original size in the message?
  15. hehehe, and I thought this is why no one seems to answer anymore, becasue I am a girl :)that's me here, but this is not my bike (I wish it was..)
  16. Damn, I knew this word, but thought it only works for motorcycles Since most of the time I'm out of the country (either in Europe or US), I might try buy it there, not sure where to buy it here.... Never saw tachometer in brats here.. we got only this model like mine, but I will try to find some 1.8 automatic and check it out, maybe they have. Regarding the installation.. well it is true that I've got some technical skills (for a girl, anyway) but I guess my BF will figure out how to install it in no time. Thanks for the tip guys!
  17. Thanks Now another question, if u dont mind. I thought about plugging in RPM meter (again, not sure the english phrase). Which one should I get?
  18. yup, this is what I meant - wasnt sure about the english word.
  19. Mine is 1.6. There are some 1.8, mostly the automatic gear ones, but also many ppl here using the Leone engine (as well as the steering wheel). I will get some more picture tomorrow, it is getting dark here. another thing I forgot mentioning is that since lately young ppl drive this car, they remove the ugly box behind, and every one is looking for the original door - it can reach 200$ here for a used one, this is how rare is the rear door )
  20. WOW dude, some amazing brat u got there!!! regarding the t-tops, becasue my country is so "progressive" in almost any aspect, if I cut off my original roof and put one with the t-tops, I can say bye bye to the license. I wont be able to get it on road legaly. and if this sounds weird, did u know I cannot even change the tires? only the original 155 - or spend half a day in some office to make it wear 175. Crappy country.
  21. rust... well as u all know (or not) Israel has an extremly hot weather 80% of the year...There are planty of parts here, but these are mostly used parts. The brat was very very common here in the past 15 years or so, mostly used for work (loading stuff in the back or so). This is why most of them had a closed box. Lately, in the past 4 years or so, it became a car for younger ppl, which could not afford themselves the big expensive pickups (just to make u understand smtg, here in Israel, a brand new GMC Sonoma - basic 4X4 is around 60,000$!) And, like myself, the youngers buy it to carry there motocross bikes etc. I can try and find out about new parts here, although I never really needed any, in the past two years I had mine. But the Brat is very common in junk yards - so it should not be difficult. Regarding a brand "new" 1994? I guess it is possible - but I am not sure about the price. PS. This is so funny. Most of the ppl here just HATE this car. I never thought there are ppl who ectually LOVE it (well, I do. but not as much as u guys). Never thought about getting TURBO in this car )
  22. No problem mate I am not sure I understood the question. Are us asking if there are available parts here or the condition of the cars here? Sorry...
  23. Hmmm.. This sounds interesting... what is the procedure I will have to do in order to apply it on my brat?
  24. No fun tops here in Israel, never saw one with..
