i have an 85 gl with air it doesnt work can i run with out the ac in place with a shorter belt or is it needed to apply presher to the water pump?

I need the accessory drive belt idler pully and a dip stick fo an 85 gl ea82

i droped a valve seat had the heads rebuilt in an 85 gl wagon. when i disassembled the heads i did not keep the cam follower's or the lifters in order. is this going to flat spot the cams like a pushrod motor or no worries?
