  1. Does anyone know why the freeze plug port on the passenger side (turbo recommended side) can't be used for non-turbo installation? If I recall, from looking under the engine a few weeks ago, that it is more accessible (i.e. I could look directly up at it without the exhaust in the way) than the drivers side one. I do believe I'm going to be able to do the drivers side install with the tools I'm gathering but am just wondering if the passenger side could/would be an option?
  2. Most certainly not dead set. In fact I kind of prefer the tank/circulating kind just because they actually do a better job.
  3. I'm trying to decide whether to install the 2010 Forester stock block heater now, while the engine is like two months old or install a circulating tank heater between now and November. If memory serves me correctly, it appeared there was about 4" between the install location (plug) and the top of the header. I've read that even on newer engines the plug can be a real bear. My question is will the allen fitting and my cheater bar have enough room without lowering the header? There also is the consideration that I'll lose leverage with the universal at the end of my bar (it'll definitely be on an angle) if everything does fit. Thank You!
  4. Actually they were quite easy to adjust. Access to adjustment was the same as for install (I figured that much). Adjusting can be accomplished from the rear of the light with a stubby phillips or from the side using a long phillips to turn the crown gear.
  5. Just installed them and everyone who has done the install on forester.org state that they are aimed way to low but I don't see how to adjust them. Thank You!
  6. The loudest was the rear center seatbelt and housing (ceiling of cargo area) which I quieted with some bubble rap and a little duck tape. There is also an intermittent one I believe is originating from the passenger side front door pillar. The most annoying one is coming from the dash (I think) between the steering column and center of the dash. May have to take it to the dealer. For comparison, I drove my 03 Dakota 4x4 Quad Cab, with 84k+ on it, down a brick street today. To my amazement there was not even the hint of one rattle. Rather impressive and I have to admit I have a new found respect for the ole girl!
  7. a) Do the plastic inserts in the bumper just pull out? I read on a forum that there is already wire and connections in the bumper. Is that correct? c) How do you remove/install the turn signal/light switch? Thank You!
  8. While driving my new 2010 Forester this morning the outside temperature was 52°F. I didn't have my fishing thermometer with me, however, I'm reasonably sure the temperature at the vents was at least in the mid 60s, if not warmer. I'm suspecting some air is passing through the heater core and this needs a cable adjustment or something. Have any of you noticed this on your Foresters? This is going to greatly impact the efficiency of the AC this summer. Thank You!
