EA82 rear axle is too long for an EA81 rig.

Thanks...saved me the two hours of rutting around looking for it...

1. I have a leftover rear axle off a 5 speed 87 GL...will it replace a damaged axle on an 85 Brat?
2. Will the rear swing arm off an 85 Hatch replace one on a Brat, same year?
Got to know...effecting damage control at the moment and it may be time to scavenge...

Just had to ask...got the Brat torn apart and I'm welding and refitting its empty. Time for mods...

Got the rear end apart on my Brat and I'm trying to remove the inner ring nut. Haynes sez: tap it and she'll go. Reality sez otherwise...is the Chevy 4wd tool (looks pretty close) the same as the Subie?
Got to finish the mechanical stuff before I weld...
Thanks.

Got a set (supposedly inner and outer) of rear wheel bearings for Bratula, and they don't match. One is much larger than the other...my Haynes manual shows both one piece and two piece styles - but they seem to match eyeball wise. Do Brats have a flat roller bearing and then a conical one for the rear ends?

Forgot to add that to the mix...occasionally, on hard left turns, the steering will act normal going into the turn and suddenly jerk harder into it...tie-rods, ball joints?

Straight ahead or right turn, over 30mph, loud growling.
Turn to left, same speed, it goes away...wheel bearings?
Time estimate for this job? 1985 Brat...

Two pals bought Foresters, one is a 2002 the other is a 2003. What are the major maintenance must dos and el cheapo mods for relaibility improvement and longevity for these newer Subies.

Do these wheels run clean if I take my GL's 13 inch rims and put them on the Brat (to save the studded snows on them for winter)?
TIA

Anyone done this...or can anyone talk me out of this? Got an 88 GL-10, was going to restore her (good turbo engine, but toasted the clutch) but the Brat has my attention at the moment...so might want to start ripping up the GL-10 to improve Bratula...
Can the GL-10 seats go into the Brat without mods?

Looking for two motor mounts for my 85 brat...or how-to rig my own and: what coil springs from a non-Subaru car may be compatible on my front end? I heard Hondas are close...
And the best struts and shocks for these creatures?

...85 (?) Hatch, 4wd. They appear to have the same 4wd trannies. Is this the case.
Looks like I need new motor mounts for the Brat and a little welding (the beast is inspected and roadable now), maybe some carpeting (!).
Sources? One stop shopping?

Thunder Road RWYB: GL-10 turbo tires?
in Old Gen.: 80's GL/DL/XT/Loyales...

If you guys were watching ESPN last week, you probably saw my buddy roll his Camry at Thunder Roads (here in New England) race tracks "Run What You Brung" races. These are one on one, single elimination races.
Now I've got the bug.
I have a 1988 GL-10 turbo AWD. The clutch is shot, front calipers are shot, rear end needs welding...but I think I can get her ready for the last race in July.
So...what are the best competition tires I can put on for paved track racing?
Any other mods you can think of, suggestions?
Anyone got a cheapo clutch kit, front calipers?
I'm gonna get to work after I get the Brat away from dry dock (today, brake lines, rear shock mount, welding the frame and floor) and finish the GL (oil pump, t-belts)...
