I have a 2001 forester and the check engine light was on went to auto zone and had it scaned and needed the 02 sensor front one so I replace it. Then 2 months later check engine came on again, had it checked and it ran a coed P0420 with 3 different causes,1 Rich A/F ratio, 2 Ignition system malifuction, 3 Faulty catalytic converter. Any advice on which on and what to do? Thanks, Roger

I`m changeing out all the wheel bearing in my 2001 forester. I noticed the cv boots on the inner front are split so as I`m inspecting them I noticed a slit play in and out of the outer cv joint not any play in twisting it back and forth though. Is this standard to have a slit play in and out? They were changed about 40,000 miles ago. Thanks, Roger

ok, thanks I`m useing the subaru brand bearing and seals(haven`t ordered yet) I thought the bearing was one peice, you say it has an inner and an outer race? and is there 2 seals on the inner and 1 on the outer? And I`ve read where you need to use the threaded bolt style bearing/race/seal kit to slowly push in and out, but you use the driver style kit? where you tap with a hammer? next I`m need to do the front, how is it different? Thanks so much for your help!

I`ve replaced my 01 forester engine with one from LKQ, so I know they tested it, but now that I`ve put it in, it won`t start up or even hit. I know I had at least half a tank of gas in it, ( it set up for 2 months befor I put the engine in) But now the gas gage is showing empty with the light on. Is there a fuel pump reset button/fuse or something? Please help? Thanks, Roger

Yeah, I should have the bolt ring turned about 1/16, because theres only 1/16 clearence between the bolts and the clutch springs. So as the clutch wears it could get into the bolts. So that 1/16 less in thickness than a new one flywheel wont interfer with the clutch padle or anyother operation? Thanks

I had my flywheel turned (2001 forester manual) and I compaired the thickness of mine to a new one, and mine must have been turned befor cause now theres about 1/16 of and inch less than a new one. Will this effect the operation of the clutch, clutch arm, throw out bearing, etc? Do I need to go with the new one? Thanks, Roger

I`m replaceing clutch and p p, on my 2001 forester. I had the flywheel turned and they must have taken to much off, cause now there`s only about 1/16 of an inch between the flywheel bolts and the clutch springs....so I think I`ll just have that inner disk that the bolts go though turned down 1/16 of an inch so I`ll have 1/8 of an inch clearence.....now I know why Subaru doesn`t recoment turning the flywheel. So turning that inner disk 1/16 of an inch wont hurt will it? It`s about 5/8 thick it seems. And what is the ft. lbs on the bolts for the flywheel tourked to? Thanks, Roger

I`m replaceing all the seals befor I put the engine back in the car. I understand there is a O ring with the seal on the oil pump shaft. Can the O ring be replaced from the from the seal side? or does the shaft have to be pulled from the inside, oil pan? If so is it nessary to replace? I`m haveing my Nissan mec. change everything out for me I`m just getting all the information befor I order all the parts. It`s a 2001 forester Thanks, Roger
