  1. I just bought used 97 Outback. According to the specifications, the tank should have 16 l capacity. However, when I gas up at the time the bar indicats empty tank I can take only 12 gallons (I have never had any light indicating empty tank on; does this car has any indicator of empty tank???). Is my fuel meter indicating wrong amount of fuel?
  2. No I did not since nobody at both BigOTires and Subaru dealership (where they dealt with my problems and did alignement) suggested that this can be a cause of the problem. Jan
  3. Hi All. I have got 97 Outback. One of my front tires causes pulling to a side (if I do not hold steering, I get about 2-3 ft to the left within 100-200 yards). How do i know it is a tire? Wheel alignement is okay and rotating of front wheels caused pulling to other side. I have about 10K on the tires. What to do? Of course, I can buy new tires. Do you think that it would help to move one of the front wheels in the rear? Is this good for transmission? Thank you, Jan
  4. Hi friends of all wheel drive, I am new owner of 97 Outback. Shortly after purchase of my car I realized that car is pulling to the left. Alignment was okay, and when I rotated tires, car pulled to the other side. Diagnosis: one of the front tires is bad. Tires look pretty new though, and have only about 8K miles on them. I think about buying only front tires, and keeping rear tires, as those look even better than the front tires. That way I may save some $$$. Now the question is: is it good for all wheel drive to have on each isle different (slightly) tires? In fact, after some driving the front tire look differently than rear (if you do not rotate them really systematicaly). Thanks for your thoughts.
  5. Hi All, I am new Subaru owner. Unfortunatelly, my Legacy Outback is pulling to a side and this cannot be solved by wheel alignment (I already tried two shops). The mechanic suggested that car might have been in a crash. I checked the Carfax and it shows clean record. I would be extremely gratefull if anybody with access to carcheck can check history of my car. The VIN is: 4S3BG6856V7628439. Thank you very much!!!
  6. i have 97 OB wagon, 2.5l. this is my first automatic - i bought it because of my fiance. and i am impressed by it - very smooth shifting and car has still lot's of power. the problem- slight engine oil leak which seems to be common for sub
  7. My 97 OB that I just bought is pulling to a side. Big'OTires cannot align it and suggests a frame problem. CARFAX is clean but somebody suggested me that the AUTOCHECK database is more complete. CAN SOMEBODY RUN THE AUTOCHECK FOR ME, PLEASE VIN is 4S3BG6856V7628439. I appreciate your help.
  8. Hi, I am new Subaru 97OB owner and have problems with alignment of my car that I just bought. When I test drove it, I did not notice it since I was unable to drive car fast enough. BigO'Tires said that cannot align the wheels as there is very little "space" and think that frame may be shifted. I saw the Carfax at dealership and it was clean. Can somebody rerun it, please? Also, some people suggest that some problems not reported on Carfax can be found on Autocheck. Can somebody run autocheck, please? My VIN:4S3BG6856V7628439
