  1. 2000 Outback Wagon w/P0420 code (105K miles). I did a search (yeah, lot's of hits), but my question is..I already replaced both the front and rear O2 sensors (as well as the knock sensor) before the light came on, when the light came on a few months ago for the O2 sensor . Have had the CEL on for a week or so now. For both O2's I used Bosch units from Autozone. I am hoping it is just the PCV valve and not the cat. Could the front Bosch O2 sensor be the cause? I have read you should only use front O2's directly from Subaru (although I have heard they are made by Bosch?). Thinking about just replacing the pcv valve to see if that does it. The actual code is P0420: Catalyst efficiency below threshold - bank 1 Does "bank 1" refer to the front O2 sensor or front cat?
  2. "What trannys will fit my 2000 outback?" I have found most trannys that are under 6' tall fit in my outback ok, if they sit in the front seat. A little tougher in the back if they are over 6' or so, especially if they are in really high heels. Sorry...I couldn't help myself.
  3. Thanks. It's just that the Forester one I found looked to be be in better shape (and was cheaper) than the used Outback ones I have found. I did find a new Outback one, but not sure I want to spend $130 yet. I think I will keep looking for a good used Outback switch.
  4. I have a 2000 Outback with an intermittent window problem. Sometimes it doesn't want to go back up. I have thought about taking the switch out and trying to see if it's just dirty contacts, etc., but it seems like the easiest thing would be to just replace the master switch. I have found a used master switch in good condition from a 1999 Forester, but have not been to find out if it will fit/work in my 2000 Outback. I have looked at pictures of both (have not taken the one out of my Outback yet), and they look really similar, but still not quite sure they are interchangeable. Anyone know? Thanks!
