  1. is it normal for an engine that has been sitting for a long time to have low compression ???
  2. quite possibily. but if you look at the second photo. it is on an oval shaped base and has two little dowels on it
  3. took the timin cover of to check timing and saw this .... what goes here??
  4. hey. I have checked codes, and i either have no codes or crank sensor. how do you test crank sensor??
  5. ya. i plugged the wires in under the dash and the engine managment light just keeps going long blinks so that is either no codes or crank sensor. I put the crank sensor from my old engine in but nope. no codes
  6. it has individal coils on each plug. i tried the coils off the old engine but no go.
  7. so. I have no spark so I put a test light on the wires going to my coils, i have power there, it doesnt flash when i crank it though, just stays solid. is my igniter pooched??
  8. nahh i dont have one of those, i have individual ones on each plug. pulled one off but had bugger all spark. dont suppose you have any idea why??
  9. im missing it lol. the wires go into looms, is it on top of the engine or the manifold?? what does it look like?
  10. 1993 gt legacy EJ20 BG5 i have a photo of it but dont how to upload them
  11. hey. i have found a short red and green wire coming forward from the loom under the manifold, its lying under where the alternator will go. any ideas what it is?? it is amongst a cluster of about 5 plugs and wires that come out of the loom there.
  12. no spark, what does a coil pack look like?? and where is it located??
  13. i pulled out the coil, cranked it with coil from new engine and coil from my old engine but nearly no spark. are you suppose to use the whole coil or just the wire??

  15. yeah it used to run, dont know how long it has been sitting for. its cranking over but just wont start. guy told me to check ecu earth, check. got heaps of fuel. whats the next step??
  16. hey. have just put a 2nd hand engine in my legacy, but i just cant seem to get it to fire. ECU earth is on, i have fuel at the injectors. i pulled a spark plug for a look and its a bit wet, if that means anything ?? help please
  17. hey, im doing head gaskets on my twin turbo ej20. im about to take timing belt off, i have the timing set, there are 2 little marks on each gear, when i line up all the timing marks and the little marks on the gears with eachother on one head, the two little lines on the gears on the other side are off a little bit, does it matter???
  18. its a pull-clutch, should i still be able to just pull it out??
  19. hello, im pulling a twin turbo jb20 out of my subaru, i have everything loose, and the engine is about 1n inch away from the bell housing, but something is still holding it, any ideas?
