I had a belt put on recently and it has 200k miles and some change. Last night though my friend brought over his computer and it pulled the codes P0341&P0400&P0507. I am curious if those will fix my problem.

Hey guys, My 97 legacy was running fine for awhile and one day went to go crank it to warm up and it made this very prompt squeak then it was shuttering like. well i came back later and once i did, it still was sputtering and it smoked a bit. very low power, any ideas what it may be?

Yeah i think i will keep it and fix it. But mat put another motor in it, and keep it for a looong time haha

Cool, that sounds pretty reasonable, but meh, i dont think its the head gasket either, but the engine does run rough now, and it smokes when i start it up. Acts like it trying really hard to run, but barley. Ive checked all the fluids they are fine. My cel is on and my EGR thing is still on, and it stays on regardless of me replacing it 3 times...idk what its doing. Also my engine shakes a pretty good deal as well. If its a broken mount it recently happened, but still would cause the rough running...or would it?

Oh i understand, but i cant afford it. its cheaper to finance a new car...not "new" but new to me, catch my drift?

Yeah my legacy is about to hit 202k miles. and i doubt it has had gasket re-done. maybe ill check out napa for that kit, thanks

How would i do a hydrocarbon test?

Holy crap i wouldnt think it would be that much, if that is the case i might as well sell it cause its not worth it i dont think. Then i will have to get a new car. Well should i get a compression test done?

Ok, well my car should be good but the engine light is still on and the EGR codes come up. OK i know its not that cause i replaced it twice, both brand new. I was reading around and looking at blown head gaskets. The symptoms seem what my car is doing. loss of power and a sweet coolant smell. I have a 97 legacy gt, what would the cost be to fix this, or is it even the head gasket at all? Thanks.

Ok it is a power antenna but i haven't used it in years. But my old radio in it activated it and it would rarely deploy. When i installed the cd player a long time ago i couldn't get the antenna cord to reach the back of the cd player, but i was just wondering how to access it. It's in the back driver-side, and there is no screws really. Maybe through the trunk? or.....?

well checked the hoses and cant find anything wrong. so not sure. Got it inspected but not long my cel came once again with the codes for the EGR valve. ive replaced it twice and the second one was not that long ago, so im at a "i dont know" right now haha.

yeah i thought so to. im getting it inspected today and while im at it ill check the hoses.

right before i done this mod, yes mine would click but it would not turn over. the starter is good just not enough voltage, so in my experience i would do the mod. its cheap and effective, no problems yet.

Ok cool help guys, i noticed today that it runs at 1k rpm. thats decent, so you were right about the ECU, i think i needed to drive it some. Also my CEL is off now(cross fingers). But really 1k still seems a little high but i think im comfortable with it. Tomorrow i will check my intake and see if i accidentally knocked off a vacuum tube or something.

Well installed my relay today...lets hope it goes well ill keep updated.

Hey guys, i recently put a new knock sensor on my Subaru, and i noticed it idles a bit more high than preferred. Well i was wondering if there is a way to adjust the idle? like a screw or something? i know you could on carburetors but im not sure on the fuel injection....any help would help. Thanks!
