  1. Its got a nasty rattle that i think is the main output beearing, and the right stub is getting sloppy, and would love to not have to worry about it for a while, dont plan on ditching the car till its totalled. Too much effort put into the whole thing.
  2. I have a 95' Imp with an 86' DR 5-spd. The trannys about to role 400,000 and im wondering if its worth a pre-emptive rebuild this summer, or go find another one, or see if my local shop will do it? I have 0 experience with the inner workings of a transmission. Also anyone know if it can be beefed up a little for the extra power output of the 2.2, other then bigger stub shafts? Thanks!
  3. yah the tab isnt there on my impreza just like a recessed square drive and we are up to almost a thousand miles with no reportable issues other than no speedo/odo LSRD is amazing for gettin it on snowy roads
  4. mine has a cable and the ea trans has a female cable twister thingy and the imp has a female cable as well it will screw into the hole but i dunno if it will doin anything have to investigate
  5. reworked driveshaft came in today installed first test drive went great snowy roads. have some bugs to work out like speedo cables bein diffent and the torque stopper but all in all drove pretty good
  6. anyone know the pin number and wire color of a 95 impreza ecu AT/MT identifier wire or have an ecu schematic for for that yr
  7. right now i have the auto inhibitor switch wired in and in the neutral position just so it will start for now but eventually im goining to jumper it and eliminate and replace with a clutch start switch on the dash
  8. almost done just waiting on custome drive shaft LSD installed and front axles spliced (by me)
  9. so trannys in engines in but it wont start with the ignition totally dead stick it will fire right up if i jumper the starter strait to battery and stay running but at 2000 rpm i have the park switch jumpered out and i know i need to ground the AT/MT pin on the PCM but im still not sure what one it it is and is this whats causing my no ign start and high idle condition? also i just got it in and only had the head pipes on it so no O2 sensors or back pressure i dunno if that makes a difference
  10. i got one of them but i can take it out and it will run and everything just fine anyway to get rid of the light if it comes on
  11. im in the middle of swapping an 87 dr tranny into my 95 impreza no real headaches so far check my thread for pics tranny is bolted in car in middle of engine rebuild
  12. im in the the middle if converting an impreza auto to an 87 DR 5spd fairly strait forward so far but its not a daily driver just a toy
  13. anyone know what will happen if i just plain remove my airbag control module. will the air bags just not go off ever or will they develope a mind of there own?

  16. and yes he has axles goin to pick up next weekend very exciting. i got the impreza gutted this weekend and the gl 5 spd bolted in with a freshly modded crossmember. once i go pick up the diff ill be done with drive like stuff yippy. still would like to get more infoo on the whole AT/MT ident pin on the computer. also does anyone know what will happen if i just simply remove the airbag control module
  17. darn found a 3.9 LSD on craigs list out of a 91 legacy turbo good news is he might still have the axles so it miay still work
  18. what was the year range for 2nd gen legacys the 3.9 87 diff isnt aa LSD so theres no reason to go through the trouble of swapping axles and what not
  19. just curious, motor and trans pulled out of donor car trans looks to be in great shape and everythings tight no leaks and no play in the dif shafts
  20. trans adapter in route project starts this weekend im fairly excited anyone know if a 2.5 intake manifold will bolt on to my 2.2 and if so if ill get anything out of it?
  21. i like option 2 would prefer not to have any rpm issues and i can do both of those easily is the at/mt pin marked or do u know the pin number

  23. soooo i can adapt the Auto ECU/PCM whatever u wanna call it to work with the MT?
