  1. Hey guys . im trying to do some performance upgrades to my outback. id like to get a faster/quicker acceleration response from 0-40 to try to beat out these guys that think theyre all big and bad with their hondas and such. what works for quicker acceleration? ive heard of these pulleys. do they work for the situation i listed? thanks. any advice would be a big help.
  2. I am having trouble figuring out how to get to my lights in the headlight assembly . i have to change out the parking/turn light. Now im used to changing out my Ford escorts lights which is just turning a little dial and simply popping off the bulb. but im afraid to do a little twisting (or breaking) without the proper knowledge of the subaru headlight assembly. but how do i get to the actual lights? thanks
  3. Does anyone know if the 2000 outback was eqiped with VDC? the bezel on my gauge has a vdc outline on it but never comes on. Does my outback have the vdc system?
  4. Does anyone know where I can find headlight covers or black outs for these model years?
  5. Anyone changed out their headlights or buy any headlight covers or modded their headlights here on a 2000-2004 legacy outback?
  6. Hey guys. Just wanted to ask other owners out there a quick question. Im looking to replace my headlight bulbs to "brighter" ones. not a major 1000 dollar type fancy xenon stuff. just brighter bulbs you get from the car section of your local store or the local car parts store. i was wondering which brand is best and also which code would it be under? 9005, 9006, or 9007? i just want my lights to look a ittle less "yellow" and alot more whiter and brighter. also i was wondering what i can do to get more mileage from my gas. can anyone suggestion any tips or upgrades? thanks in advance. your answers are much appreciated.
  7. I was wondering if anyone out there could answer some questions about my 2000 legacy outback limited: 1. I have a in-window built in radio antenna on my rear window. I wanted to get a tint job for my outback, but this is concerning me because i do not know if getting the window tinted would damage that antenna or the rear window defrosters for that matter.any advice? 2. I would like to change out my rear taillights to a "euro style" clear lights. Im looking all over the net but have no luck as to finding any. Does anyone know if these types of lights are sold for outbacks? 3. Im looking to improve my gas mileage. at the moment i believe im getting 20 mpg. does anyone have tips as to what i can tweak/change out to get more mpg out of my gas? I use Shell 87 octane. thanks in advance!
  8. and i notice when i take it on the highway at 70mph plus the steering wheel shakes a little. not too much that its unbearable but enough to notice when you look down at your hands on the wheel. now ive had this problem before with my escort wagon and got it fixed (it was tie rods and old tires) but since this car is only about 4 years old i was wondering if it could be the tie rods or is it the tires? anyone else have this problem?
  9. just recently bought a 2000 outback limited. great car. just wanted to know which gas works best and is best for the engine. is it 87, 89 , or 93 octane. i know some of you out there are hardcore outbackers and would probably know the best answers to this.also which brand is best for it? shell? bp? amoco? etc... thanks in advance.
