  1. If I can't find a way to make the factory stereo work, then I may have to go aftermarket. I wonder if I would need to change the speakers, also. I think the car has 2 small speakers in the corner of each front door, in addition to the ones in the bottom of the doors. I don't know where I would get replacement speakers that small or that would sound as good. Does anyone know who made the stereo system for Subaru?
  2. I love the factory stereo in my Outback...got great sound. What I'm wondering is whether a separate CD/MP3 player (with Ipod hookup) will work with this radio. If I could find one to fit where the factory disc changer would go, this would be great, but I don't know whether the radio would be able to decode the MP3's. Let me know if you have any ideas.
  3. Know what you mean about GM musclecars...grew up on fast Oldsmobiles, like the W-30. I do have an 87 442 in the garage that I found this summer. Hope to get it running and driveable by spring. Hope this Subaru will last for a while...if it does good, might buy another one.
  4. Hello, everyone. I just purchased a 2001 Outback Limited wagon (manual trans), with 142000 miles, and love it! Great on gas, and fun to drive. I have no previous experience with Subaru (drove GM for years, and do have two Oldsmobiles and two Chevy trucks), but I hear they are really dependable. This car seems to have been well maintained, with a new timing belt and tires just this year. I'm still learning how everything works in the car (got a lot of cool features). Hope to post a pic soon of the car.
