  1. Well I got the clutch finished Tuesday. Went and bought a comealong and some chain and hooked it to the roof of my garage. Started pulling the motor at 10am and had the car running again by 7pm with some breaks. Got it all done and test drove it to walmart to return the comealong and chain. Lol. I did the whole job by myself with no help. Not bad at all. Ea82s are very easy to pull.

  2. So... Just to get a little history...

When you towed it, it wasnt in 4WD at all?

How was it up on the tow dolly?

Sounds like something was damaged in the tow...

It was towed on a dolly with the front wheels off the ground. It was in neautral and in 2wd. Nothing is torn up. I think its just time for the clutch to be changed. I will be attempting to remove the motor tomarow to change it out. Does anyone know of a quick way to pull the motor? Some tips or tricks.

  3. So i moved from nm to cali. Pulled the car off the dolly and now the clutch is slipping. It slipped pretty bad for acouple days in 3rd and 2nd then it stoped. It didnt slip for acouple days and now its slipping again. Are these signs of the clutch going out? I Didnt have any trouble with the clutch in new mexico it didnt slip at all. Whats the best way for 2 guys to change this clutch with no engine hoist. We will be doing it in a covered garage. 1988 subaru dl 4x4 spfi

  5. Ok the 235 75 15s are all on. Almost killed both of my wrists trying to drill the rims out. lol I was able to drill out all of the rims with one 1/2 drill bit and some cutting oil. Cutting and beating the front was easy. Then i got a little carried away cutting the back. I ended up cutting into the car its self. Where the rear windshield washer container is. Ill have to cover the whole back up. and make my cuts look good. Had some random guy on the street tell me it was bad rump roast. And some girl at walmart told me it was awesome and a real chick magnet lol.... Car is mutch slower but i love it. Took it to about 65mph and didnt have any wabbles or shakes.. Will get pics soon

  6. The 235 75 15s crammed in the dl on the way to my buddys shop to get them mount and balanced

  7. So i grabbed this 88 dl spfi 4x4 wagon off of my friend who moved to cali.Paid $800 cash and it runs like a champ and everything works.

These are my plans for my ea82 wagon.

They have to be done bye the end of feb. Me and my subbie will be liveing in fairfield ca in march.

    plans

1990 montero 6-lugs five wheels in total

spare wagon hub to redrill the rims

    New front cv axle

    water pump/thermostat

    235/75/15 Goodyear wranglers from wal-mart

No lift. I dont mind putting her under the saw

Pics will come tomorrow when i start throwing it together

  8. Ill have to fix my egr solinoid to turn off the cel. The state might not like the tires sticking out of the side of the car with no flares. Never had to deal with emisions so i dont know what to expect.

  9. I didnt mean to come off rude. I understand what ratty2austin told me. They might go on and if they did i wouldint have any down travel. Im sure i would end up with a bunch of broken axles. Im going to see what truck tires will fit on it stock. Im not scared of hacking up the fenders. Im just not sure how the state of california will like it. I will be moving out there the end of the month. Might try and keep it registered in NM because we dont have emisions here.

  10. If im going to do it im gunna do it big lol. The full 6" lift kit from sjr is $800 that price seems a little high. Is this my only option or is there other people making a 6" kit for less? how hard is it to install the full kit? Any special tools required? Im also not sure how i would extend the steering linkage brake lines ect. This car is also my daily driver and i cant have alot of down time.

  11. That's the blue one from Flagstaff isn't it? I was talkin about going down and looking at the 2wd - I need it like a hole in the head. I used to go wheelin in the glade with some NM buddies of mine. Do people still go out there?

No that blue one has sat in farmington for many many moons. Im not sure what you mean bye glade?
