damn! yea I dont think my turbo pistons are salvageable, maybe the pistons themselves but not the rods, how long would you think the motor would last at just 5 psi, could possibly running a FPR make up enough for the lack of fuel? or is it just the fact that you cant boost at those compression ratios?

A non turbo short block would physically work and would essentially be the same thing if you swapped out the piston for turbo versions. If you don't it will not last long. Turbo short blocks are 8:1 compression while the non turbos are either 9:1 or 9.5:1. This will cause detonation and failure pretty quick.

hello, maybe you can help me out on a quick question
my 87 ea82T threw a rod through the block today... could I take an NA ea82 shortblock and just replace the destroyed shortblock and use all the existing parts (intake manifold, turbo ect...)
an answer to this would be great
Thanks!
