  1. Hj guys been along time since i was on. Have an issue with my GSR. Got it out for the first time in along time. Cleaned it, put water in radiator which seemed to take along time. Cranked her over and oil was coming out the oil filler pipe. Drained oil which was more water. Filled radiator and water came out sump plug. Any ideas as to what may be happening. Cheers Kevin

  3. Is the dl1400 on trademe yours? I have one the same. But intend to keep it and restore it as well. the other GSR is a 74. We plan to hot it up. Not keep it standard. Maybe put a EJ20 in if it will fit.

cool what year gsr? any special plans your going to do to it?

im thinking off selling my xt6 and im trying to sell my other 1400 too the DL. im doing an bit off work to my gsr at the moment. water pump packed an sad :(

  4. Have another GSR to restore. And no sorry I don't have a spare badge. Will catch up with you oneday James. I just bought a Subaru Omega coupe for my daughter. She picked it up from CHCH yesterday.

also do you have an spare rear GSR badge or Know some one that has one? my one is missing it

    thanxs

  5. oops I said it had been along time, Getting mixed up. Oh well how about Wellington one day. A bit further for me but its been along time since I was in the North Island. Anyway the car still looks awesome and hope to have mine parked beside it oneday.I wiiltry and not get you two mixed up again.

Yes Dunedin is a little more than half way for me :-p

Perhaps Wellington would be more suitable.

  6. Hi James long time since we talk. I got a new booster for my GSR no problem. I also got new rack ends as well. You shouldn't have any worries getting them from your local subie dealer. Or Repco. They are the same as the 1600 models. Your GSR is looking really good. Must meet one day in Dunedin(halfway)and get some photo's of our cars together. You have a DL1400 as well don't you. I am about to start restoring mine. When I get it finished it would look awesome to have both GSR's and DL's together.

A side note I will be doing the clutch aswell, as it doesn't have much *bite* so to speak, and the release bearings and whatnot are very noisey.

Perhaps CV joints if I can find a source in NZ :dead:

But a result I am very happy with.

  7. We have had one for about 5 yrs now. It was in storage in Invers and is now in a shed on a local farm waiting to be fixed up. I have to finish the Brumdy first. I have put a lift kit in the rear and I am working on the front end at the moment. The DL we have was owned by an eldrly couple and the old fella died and they where going to take it to the wreckers. I gave the old lady $200. The back seat has never been sat in. It does have some rust. We get it out every six months or so and go for a cruise. No cops up here as it isn't reg or warrented.

    Cheers Kevin

are you picking up an yellow dl from chch or do ya mean ya got 1 down here? just i do remember seeing an yellow dl like mine driving round chch about an month or so ago. had rust in the bottom of the doors.
  8. I am putting in a 2" lift into my brat. I assume that I have to alter the linkage for the hi lo lever. Has anyone got photos of this alteration or any photos of lift kits being put in. I have the rear end done and am about to start on the engine. Anything I should watch out for? Thanks for any help!
