  1. I had Car Toys install a AVIC-N1 Pioneer navigation system in my new 2005 2.5 XT Limited Turbo Outback Wagon. They had very little space to work with, because the dash is completely different this year. Most other places said it would be too big of a job to install this navigation system. Others said they would have to cut into the dash, and were not sure if the installation would work. Car Toys of Bellevue, Washington did an outstanding job of installation. The AVIC-N1 is an awsome system. I am a very satisfied customer of Car Toys and the AVIC-N1 Pioneer Mavigation System.
  2. I recently purchased a 2005 XT Turbo Outback with the idea that having a navigation system installed would be a snap. It has turnedout to be somewhat of a nightmare. Several places turned down the job, saying because of layout of the dash it would be too dificult to install. The Subaru Company would offer no help on ideas at all. I personally think Subaru missed the boat by not offering a Navigation System in their 2005 models. The one company that spent alot of time and help was Car Toys of Bellevue outside of Seattle. Daniel Kim the manager was very helpful. I choose the Pioneer AIC-N1 Navigation. The whole thing is going to run alittle over $3000. It is going in this week end. I will keep you posted on how it turns out. Once you have had navigation, it is difficult to do without it. I got rid of a lexus to buy a Turbo Outback. And quite frankly I like the Subau better than the Lexus. The Lexus had more gadgets, and felt more like a boat. The Subaru has instant power, and drives somewhat like a sports car. With the Subaru I feel like I am the one that is driving. With the Lexus it was the other was around. It was driving me.
  3. Hi: Thanks for the info. My 2.5 XT Turbo does have radio controls on the left side of the steering wheel, and sportshift on the right side of the steering wheel. Both are operated with a + and -.
  4. I definitely need help on finding a top of the line Navigation system that will go into a 2005 Outback without replacing a greater part of the dash. I have the Turbo 2.5 limited Outback with 6 cd disk changer and controls for the radio on the steering wheel. I imagine there will be a kit coming out for the dash in the near future. I am suprised that Subaru was so short sighted as not to offer Navigation in their new models. What I really need is a good advice from an experienced installer as which way to go. I am in the Seattle area.
  5. Hi: Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to the board, but I have been having too much fun driving my new 2005 XT Limited Turbo Outback. It is like driving a sports car with a lot of power. It handles very well, takes corners great, has immediate power. Does not lag in sport shift or regular drive. I traded a RX 300 Lexus in on it, and quite frankly I like the Subaru better. You feel like you are driving the car rather than the car driving you. The only thing I miss on the Lexus is the GPS Navigation. Subaru has yet to come out with. Owning the turbo is and driving it, is quite a nice expierence. Thank you for helping me decide on the Turbo.
  6. Hello to everybody everywhere: I need help on deciding which Subaru Wagon to buy. The saleman at the agency says there is no difference to speak of. I am looking at a 2005 Subaru 2.5 XT Limited Wagon which is 4 cliynder Turbo and has 250 horsepower. The other Wagon is a 3.0R LL.Bean with 250 horsepower. All the sales people I have talked to cannot give me the pros or cons on the 2 wagons. They all say they are equally good. My thinking is that there has to be some kind of difference. Any info on this subject would be welcomed. Thanks
