  1. 1984 Subaru GL EA81, stock as a rock. It needs a new clutch, new PS lower ball joint, and eventually a new tranny. 3rd gear is a witch. God loves white spoke rims
  2. It is that same vehicle, and thanks GrossGary. The boot on the driver's side of the rack & pinion is cracked, and supposedly (according to the dealership) it's leaking. I'll probably either replace it all, or just find a boot for it and re-pack it with grease. Thanks man! Forrest
  3. What tools do I need to replace my rack & pinion and/or passenger side lower ball joint? My Subi's engine runs like a champ, but it's starting to have issues. When I turn left, there is a shaking, and a sound like the chatter of a clutch. Any ideas? I think I pinpointed it to the ball joint, but I'm not sure. The boot on the drivers side of the rack & pinion has separated, so I need a new one of those. Anyhow, thank God for Pick N Pull!
  4. I have an '84 GL with the EA81 and a 4-Speed D/R 4WD. My tranny is starting to go. Shifting into third gear is a problem. It doesn't like to go into gear, unless you get it just right; and good luck downshifting to third... If anyone has had this problem, feel free to comment, I want to know what's up. However, my real question is: Is it possible to swap a 5-Speed D/R from an EA82 motor into my Subaru? I know pretty much everything is possible, but just wondering. I need a new clutch, so when I replace that, I'd plan on doing the swap. Thanks a whole bunch Forrest

  6. Thanks Ben, love the Smokey and the Bandit pic also
  7. I'm trying to install an aftermarket radio (still a two-knob design) into my '84 Wagon. The wiring is different, and I have no clue. My dad already cut the red wire, so yeeaaahhhh... And now, it's overheating. I'm thinking because it needs some sort of circuit in the wiring. Anyhow, please help.
  8. I was just wondering if anyone could help me out and gimme the specs for the bumper mounts, etc. Thanks
