danbennett2u was right, it was the dust shield of a foreign spindle, hammered it out and all was well..
then I had a slight squeak from the same area but like gratefuldude said, it seemed to go away after a little driving..
hoping that I can get the speedometer cable to work! I can't get it smogged unless it does cause it causes the engine light..

I just drove mine for the first time!! I finished overhauling the entire thing down to every nut and it is Gorgeous (in my eyes at Least) it's a 96 impreza outback.. I do sadly have to replace One wheel stud and it will be officially, mechanically done.. I also deep cleaned the entire interior, dash, seats and all (including taking anything apart that would come) and it shall be registered and road legal in the weeks to come.
I Love This Day!

well I called the tranny shop because there's no point in fixing it if it's still under their warranty anndd they told me to drive it first because sometimes general weird things can happen when it's in the air, "vibrations etc." so I figure I'll just put it back together and drive it around the block.. see what happens..

I didn't know there was a viscous in there... but it's not in the oil, I just drained the oil down anyways, but it is a consistent metallic and kind of.. machined sound, like there is one point of the driveshaft hitting one point around it...
though it makes the same noise with the shaft out..
another piece of info is that it doesn't make the noise in the same way in different gears in fifth it's almost always there fourth it lasts longer 1, 2 and 3 it hits for a second while giving it gas and reverse doesn't at all
also is it possible the bearing on the output of the transfer being dented would have this effect?

so I just got my new jdm tranny into my impreza and got everything hooked up and it started making banging noises.. from the transmission, I asked a couple people and they talked about not having any load on the wheels and shtuff and possibly that having no oil in the transfer..
does anyone know if the transfer carries it's own oil? and how to deal with that if it does

Listen AMR9000 person. He already put you thru the process. Others have delivered beyond the wealth of info Already in storage here. It's like it happened yesterday except when they hadn't explained the same thing over and over.
Wait now . I'm not in any position to cut You down. This whole deal is about help. It's like one doesn't recommend you buy a huge set or a gearpuller if you haven't the experience with these more different. Believe me there different beyond. I don't know or remember your circumstance. It would be a visual and mental treat for you to present this situation to a machine shop_-Knowing what you know and how they will apply what they already know and have on hand. You would be amazed about the talent that is there. There are some hurting for work and last thing would be to mess U up.
you know What Fuzpile! I'm a fricken 16 year old that just spent two grand on a car and parts based on Everyones opinion But mine because All I know is how some stuff works.. not what's best to do and currently.. I have NiNe dollars and I'm not about to WAste anything I get besides those nine dollars so I'd Like to Make SURE I know what I'm doing, eSpecially in these times, so I don't F**K myself over..
I'm sorry I'm not the Brightest, to those dealing with my apparent stupidity, but you don't have to help me if you don't want to...
So to gd, thank you for the link I couldn't find one, that looks awesome except where is the giant bit that holds onto something to push against the bearing..? or did I just forget something..

this makes sense except.. I have no hub tamer and they either cost 500$ or the 80$ one from harbor freight sounds... well interesting, and I'm frankly worried about spending that 80$ and either breaking it or it nor working.. cause I don't know much about it

by the way what does the Orange square with an arrow mean on link to a thread?

hhmm well the entire assembly was just... different than all the other assemblies, not just the ring there was no hole in the assembly for the sensor whatsoever
however that is an interesting bit of information about the abs on my caar

However, the race that the bearing rides on is seemingly worn out also, so I'm trying to think of how much to do myself... maybe press the races out, get new stuffs and have a shop press it back together?
