hi folks,
so, i go to the dealer with my newly purchased sub for a checkup and some recalls. the guy charges me $98 for a total check-up of the car and he tells me that the ABS is not working and the system has the error codes 42 and 46. I asked him what they meant, he said "i don't know for sure -- we need to check further" (i.e. spend more money). I asked him again if he had any idea what they might mean, what is the direct translation in his subaru service manual for codes 42 and 46 -- again he said he needs to check further.
So I ask you, the knowledgable folk of this forum: does anyone have any idea what these abs system codes mean?
I am guessing the problem is not that severe otherwise the man would've said -- your blah-blah unit is out, it will cost you an arm and a leg to fix it. Instead, he needs to further investigate what 42 and 46 mean... maybe I need to change some broken sensor, etc. something I could do myself if he told me the info.
