  1. So I did the turbo. Nothing changed. There was oil in the pcv system so I replaced the valve. This also did not help. I can hardly drive the car cause im going through a quart every 100 miles. Im not leaving clouds of smoke but the exhaust does smell. I need some help. I checked for the leaks but nothing major. The oil is going somewhere. Could it be the oil pump? I do have what I think is a noisey valve train.
  2. I did not replace valve stem seal. But I did find oil in all the intake parts and throttle body after the turbo. Im thinkin thats it. What are my best options? I know used ones are hard to find. I wanna stay stock!
  3. My 86 gl 10 started burning about a quart of oil every week at about the same time I blew a head gasket. I replaced the head gaskets and also did the cam seals. I checked cylinder walls and they look good. Gets good compression. And it still burns a quart every couple days. There is no sign of leakage on the driveway. Could I be leaking while I drive? Also the exhaust smells horrible. Maybe turbo burning the oil?
  4. Oh okay. Well the car is only overheating when I climb hills. Everytime I stop to add some water it is bubbling in the overflow tank. What could that mean? This car has been overheated a few times before. I heard these things will almost always blow head gaskets or crack a head when you overheat them. Im getting sick of so I think im just going to tear the heads off and take a look. Oh I also notice the coolant having a kind of burnt or exhaust smell. Its pretty strong.
  5. Wont a cylinder leak down test tell me whether the head is cracked? Or what is the easiest way to test my heads?
  6. I have a 86gl10 wagon and it recently started going through lots and lots of oil. Like a quart every week. Following this problem I have also been going through most of my coolant everytime I drive it. It is overheating. There is no puddle of oil in the driveway and from what I see im not leaving clouds of smoke. I dont know where it is going. I thought head gasket but I did a pressure test on the radiator and it held pressure fine. Also did compression test. About 120 without oil and 150 with oil. I also replaceed a bad thermostat yesterday and it did not help. Please help me!!!!
  7. Thanks a ton. I took the distributor cap off and it did not spin when cranking the engine. Must be the timing belt.
  8. My 1986 Subaru GL-10 4wd has no spark. I did an ohm test on the coil and it seems good. I have voltage at the coil when the key is on. Should i replace the ignition control module/pickup coil in the distributor? I don't know any way to test it. The tach has no reading when i crank the engine.
