These should fit. I had them on my 87' GL wagon. They would look great on an RX as they also sit out farther. They were flush with my fenders on the GL. They will need new tires. Give a call if you like (970) 402 6696 Come and take a look.
Some brake fluids have a very high dry boiling point. That may also help if you are working them hard, but I aggree that you should do the master cylinder first...
