Hello, I have been reading the boards for a long time and am not almost ready to purchase a GL wagon. The dream is to build it up to be an off road champ. In the seattle area, these rarely seem to come up on craigslist. I am trying to find one in the $700 range... is that way out of line? Where are all the GL's in seattle area?

Hello! I am a long time lurker, first time poster... I am now ready to take the plunge and get an old subie! I need something that will get me up to the mountain trailheads, as well as get decent gas mileage. I really want a wagon for the cargo space. I have been doing a lot of research on the different models and engines, and it looks like the EA81 is the engine I want. What are the pros and cons of the EA81 vs. the EA82? I know the EA82 has annoying timing belts, but it seems like it might be a better engine if it is fuel injected. I am looking at this one: http://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/2553627507.html I haven't been able to find any info on the turbo model. Are these reliable and easy to work on? Which model and year is your favorite, and why? I am really looking for something cheap that I can wrench on and fix myself. Should I be looking for a Loyale since these are a little newer? Thanks.
