  1. i have a 1993 impreza L frnt wheel drv.1.8 Ltr Manual trans..with a leaky imput shaft seal ..i bought a new seal to replace in annother trans out of the same type and model..took the back off and all was turning smoothly cracked the case open to put new seal...didnt wvwn remove tha shaft..just lifted it up on that end where the seal goes put new seal bolted the case halves back together tourqued to specs and truned freely but when we put the back part back on,,it wont turn at all...take it off and it turns again...what is wrong? any clues to what might be doing wrong?...i am also getting help from Pikes peak winning racer Brianne Corn who is a Subaru junkie ..i bought this car from her...and thats what she mainly races...sti's and the like..but we cant figure it out.....trans shop wants 250 bucks just to crack it open and close it back up 20 mins of work..i told them theyre crazy..i can buy a remanufactured trans for that much on Ebay motors...and just be done with it...i think 50 -80 bucks tops is all i should have to pay ..so i am doing it myself
  2. i dont think it will work i am pretty sure the imput shaft is bigger diameter om the legacy..i am doing trans work on mins right now i have a 93 imp L and 1.8 motor front wheek drive only..i have a trans out of a legacy same year and it has a biger input shaft...wanted to do a swap ..because my shaft seal is leaking...so now i had to just rebuild my trans i already had in the car
