  1. Hi, I have a 1998 Subaru Legacy outback, 2.5

When driving in town today I noticed it started to overheat. I pulled over and found that neither cooling fan in front of the radiator was working. I pulled the fuse cover under the hood and the fuse for the fan on the drivers side was blown. I replaced it and that fan worked. I looked under the dash and found the fuse for the passengers side fan was blown. I replaced that one and was on my way. I just got home from work and I popped the hood and neither fan was working. I checked the fuses and they were both blown again.

    Any ideas?

What do these two fans have in common with each other that would blow both fuses?

    Thanks in advance!

  2. Hi, can someone tel me how to clear the computer codes with out a scan tool on a 98 suby legacy outback? I have been having some issues with it hesitating and while working on it I got the cel on because I was messing with some of the sensors and now I may have to take it to the dealer and I dont want to mislead them and waste money on parts I don't need so I want to make sure the codes are gone. Thanks

  3. I started suddenly. It happened again when my wife left work last night. I drove it last night and did several things to try to get it to do it again but it wouldn't. Today I drove it and it seems to only do it when the engine is cold. It fast idles fine, but maybe there is a problem when it switches from fast idle to normal idle. It only sputtered for a second this morning so it's hard to find. Any ideas?
