The tach only fluctuates a couple hundred rpms so I think a rebushing should do it.

I rebuilt the weber so I think the float is probably good. Checked the distributor and there definitely is some play when I wiggle the rotor. Not sure how much is too much though...

Forgot to say already have new plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and fuel filters. The tach jumps up and down at idle also.

Triple checked and can't find any vacuum leaks. Also has a new PVC valve. Idles rough above 900 rpms and won't idle at all below that. Anyone have any ideas?

How do I adjust the clutch? Kinda new to manual transmissions.

So my car was driving fine until this morning. It all of the sudden is extremely hard to put it into gear, like I have force it but there's no grinding except for when I try to put it into reverse. What could this be?

So I've got an 84 EA81 wagon and it idles really rough. I recently did a weber conversion and changed the head gaskets and and there are no vacuum leaks, it still idles rough. What could be causing this?

Haha I'm not being a girl I just really don't want to have to tap out a broken bolt. I'll just use the breaker bar.

I'm keeping the motor in the car while I do the head gaskets... not sure if there's a way to get the PB blaster in there.

Yeah, they just won't break loose. Just don't want to mess anything up.

So I'm in the process of tearing the heads off my ea81 to change the head gaskets. My problem is I can't remove the 2 bolts in the valve rockers. Is there a trick to it?

So my ea81 is running rough and there's lots of oil in the coolant so I'm going to replace the head gaskets. My question is can this easily be done with the motor still in the car? I really don't want to pull the motor. Also I'm looking at the Beck/Arnley graphite head gaskets, are these good ones to use?

So my 84 4 speed wagon makes a high pitched whine whenever the clutch pedal is depressed. It kind of sounds like a squeaky belt but only happens when you press the clutch in. Any ideas what this could be?

I'd be interested if the price was right.

So my 84 gl wagon doesn't have a center console and I was wondering if a console from an 82 brat will fit? Not sure if they're the same or not.

So I just did a Weber swap on my 84 EA81 wagon and I removed all the smog stuff. On the passenger side right behind the motor next to the transmission is this little cannister that had a hose going to the air filter. My question is what is this and can I remove it?

Yeah I priced it out, it's going to be $50. It's still running rough, I got a new intake and a weber I'm hoping to get put on before or during spring break. I'm pretty excited to get it good enough for daily driving I will get some pictures up when I've got it ready to go.

Just wondering what OEM products I should use when installing my EA82 intake on my EA81 engine? I need to replace the thermostat and gasket, the intake gaskets, and the PCV valve.

Just wondering how hard it is to install an msd coil and ignition? What's the real gain from this, is it even worth it?

Just picked up a Weber 32/36 from a junkyard in Sherwood for $22 last weekend just wondering what jetting I should use for it on my '84 EA81 wagon? Right now it has 140/140 main, 170/160 air corrector, and 60/50 idle.
