  1. thats what i thought at first...but they dont quite fit right, and there arent enough of them, and there werent any there when i took the valve covers off...i know there usually are...but the h-6 must be different.
  2. check to see if the ac compressor is actually engaging. If its not...start checking fuses.
  3. did heads on an 02 outback h-6....there are 12 of these in the head kit...anyone know what these are for?
  4. i had one last week that looked just like that...didn't break, but the teeth on the backside of the belt were coming off...crank was turning but the cams were not.
  5. IMO if you dont know the milage...replace it..and alll the pulleys and water pump. It will end up saving you the trouble of doing valves down the road if it does break. Ive seen too many ppl get rid of nice cars that they liked cause they didnt keep up on the maintenance and "took a chance". Just my two cents.
  6. well..got the heads of..this is what i found on the intake side of the passenger side head. there is so much lip from the wear that i can even get the lifters for the number 1 cylinder out on the itake side....oh well...its only money Im just really suprised that there was no noise coming from that. Any that i could hear anyway.
  7. ive come across this a couple times...for me it was always that little secruity button that is taped under the dash.
  8. im supposed to be pulling 17 inches of vacuum at this sea level and im only getting 13 so yeh...crappy...never thought to check to see what vacuum was...kinda makes me feel dumb.
  9. ok...so i let the car sit for awhile...come to find out i dont have the right adjustment on the valves...so the heads are coming off...supposed to be .15 on the intake and .20 on the exhaust...i got .03 and .08 as an average between the three cylinders....good times.:-\
  10. i know for a fact that im not off...had it apart three times...after the new chains went in...lines the links up exactly as put forth in the service manual.
  11. i suppose i could either swap those too...or find out what they are supposed to ohm out at and check that....the thing that really gets me it that it feels smooth when its missing...almost like a false code....it was running really bad before i put the new chains in...im still getting the same codes but it runs smooth.
  12. yeh..injectors...i dont know about subies...but i know on gm's, if one is shorted, it will take that whole bank out because of the way they are wired.
