    Thanks for the help. I have thought of that and i assumed the one in my swap was correct. I went ahead and looked in the parts catalog and sure enough i had the wrong one. Searched around and found one for a m/t and the code cleared. thanks!

    I have a '90 EJ22 and it stumbles throughout the power band. the only code it has thrown is #49 - improper mass air sensor. I have replaced the sensor and no luck. Anyone have any insight on #49. Fault #23 is also mass air sensor related. The fsm goes in to detail on how to diagnose the problem. I went through the steps and everything checked out fine. Fsm doesn't have any help for fault 49. Thanks
