  1. Ok. It's fixed. Purrs like a cat. Which is understandable considering it ate a mouse. Or two. When I opened it up to fix the timing belt being out of time, there were at least 2 mashed mice inside the timing belt cover. Guess I know why it was off by 2 teeth. Now if I can just find some cheap white fenders, all will be happy.
  2. Ok, stupid me. I checked the timing belt. It's 2 teeth off. I'll let you know when I get a chance to line it up again.
  3. The injectors are firing, I can hear them. I don't know how to test them beyond that except to replace them. The plug wires are new.
  4. Ok, the oil treatment didn't have any effect. I pulled the plugs on that side, and they were really carboned up. No wet gas on them, just really black. They're 2 days old. Could the fuel injectors be sticking on or leaking? It appears that that side of the engine is running really rich. Any ideas?
  5. I haven't had a chance to look at the car since yesterday, but your idea about the intake gasket makes a bunch of sense to me. I can't imagine the car would run at 75 on only 2 cylinders. So, as I remeber from my old one legged auto shop teacher, the way to check for a bad intake gasket is to squirt oil all around the edge of the manifold right? 2nd stupid question, will the car work fine without the hillholder cable from the clutch? The hillbiily mechanic I got this from has some kind of motorcycle cable wedged in there with tiewraps and hose clamps. I don't even want to touch it unless I have a replacement if I need one. Thanks!
  6. I'm having a continuous problem with missing at idle on my 93 Legacy 2.2 NA. I've replaced plugs and wires, checked compression, listened to the injectors firing, and I'm out of ideas. The engine will run the same with both passenger side injectors disconnected as it does with them connected. I've just driven this car 200 miles in this shape and I can't believe it's running on only 2 cylinders. I have no history on the car, bought it as a parts car from the previous owner for $200 due to the missing. Drove it 200 miles home with no problems(except the missing) at up to 75mph. No CEL, but I've cleared it anyways. Any body have any ideas? Thanks!
