Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXDidn't know I needed a couple of drive cycles to turn off the srs light after repair. After watching MrSubaru code 26 YouTube video, I thought the srs light was instant off after the problem was corrected. I haven't done any drive cycles. Maybe mine is fixed and I just need a couple of drive cycles for light to turn off.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks for adding that input msmithmmx. I've never tested a circuit board on a map light. I'm a rookie on the whole srs light problem I'm having.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes. Good points. Just because I tested with meter, does't mean whats under the solder is good. I have re flowed and added solder on d1 and r1 thru r4 twice. I do have a new map light assembly coming to my Subaru dealership on Friday. Just wanted to try the diagnosis and repair first.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI thought r1 thru r4 were the resisters. Are you saying r1 thru r4 are just the resisters for the bulbs. D1 and r1 thru r4 test results are on the paper to the right of map light. Where are the resisters that I should be testing with the meter. Sorry for all the questions. I'm a novice at this srs problem I'm having. To clarify. The number in the boxes on the paper next to the map light are ohm measurements from my multi meter.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI just did an ohm test on the map light. All ohm values look correct. The paper to the right of the map light are the recorded ohms test results. Whats my next step to solving the code 26 srs light.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't know if you have to clear the #26 error code. Hopefully some one on the board will answer that.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes. Just ordered the new map light assembly from Subaru. Just wanted to verify the error code first. My local dealer wanted $140 just to run the codes. Now that I know its error code 26, it seems like a safe bet to buy a new map light assembly.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXJust got the MaxiLink Ml629 from Amazon. Yes it does read the srs codes from 2007 Legacy. I got the 26 code number. I have re soldered map light assembly twice. Not quite sure why code 26 is still happening.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks for your advise Gd. Yes I can see srs on a 2007 Legacy is to obscure for anybody except the big players like Snap On to have on their scanners.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXThanks for the info on the Autel 619. When I talked to Autel phone support, they suggested the 619. However like the icarsoft tech support, Autel couldn't confirm what years it would work on.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHi Tom. Communicated thru email with icarsoft. They said there product works on Subaru srs, but couldn't confirm what years they work on. That's great that your getting one and are going to review it. Then we will know for sure if its a good buy.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes. No luck on srs code reader for 07 Legacy. I've been checking Windows and Android based software for laptop, haven't found anything there either. Have RomRader but no srs reader there. There's got to be something out there.

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't think that can pull srs codes on a 2007 Legacy.

Read Srs Codes on 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI don't know how it could be accurately tested. I'm re soldering it tonight. I know they are $100 from the dealer and less than half that for a used one on Ebay. Both those options seem kind of a waste of money without knowing what is triggering the airbag light to come on.

Read Srs Codes on 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes I did the solder repair on map light assembly once with no luck. Will check the under drivers seat harness. There is supposed to be an eight pin connector under the dash by the steering wheel column that is an srs test connector Haven't found any info on line regarding how to jumper the pins to get srs codes. I know the error code for the map light assembly issue is 26. Would like to verify what code is actually turning on the srs light in my gauge cluster.

steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXIs there a inexpensive code reader I can buy to verify what srs code my 07 Legacy has. So far not having any luck soldering the map light assembly.

steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI can get to all the p and c codes without a scanner. I there a way to get to the srs codes without a scanner?

Airbag Light 07 Legacy
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXI opened up the map light assembly and re soldered the far right diode. Still have the airbag light on dash. Do I need to re solder all the components on the board. Do I need to erase the airbag code like erasing an O2 sensor ... code?

Reinstall Torque Converter
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXYes I meant input shaft. Have the pump shaft connected to the TC with retainer clip. Should I pull the input shaft back out of trans and reinstall the TC, pump and input shaft together as one unit or reinstall the input shaft separately?

Reinstall Torque Converter
steve56 replied to steve56's topic in 1990 to Present Legacy, Impreza, Outback, Forester, Baja, WRX&WrxSTI, SVXHi GD. Got the tube out of trans and installed on torque converter with the retainer clip. When I reinstall the oil pump shaft, how far should it be sticking out measuring from the trans seal? It usually is sticking out 4 1/2 inches. but sometimes stops at 4 inches and 5 inches out from the seal.
