  1. I swapped a 2.2 into a 2000 forester. moved all sensors to 2.2 intake using 2.5 wiring. Spliced injector wires. Engine fired but i two distinct injector problems. Both front cylinders have injector wiring issues. One receives a constant ground signal from the ecu. The other receives no ground signal from the ecu. Both have a hot yellow wire. Traced continuity on ground signal wires to the fire wall. I want to follow the wires to the ecu. Where is it. The wires go thru the fire wall on the passenger side behind the heater box. I know this is a wierd swap, but these injector issues are hard to explain. Thanks for the help. It is an AT car. The 2.2 is a 95 AT car. Swapped cam sensor and crank sensor. Swapped throttle body. Help.
  2. how can I find an old posting that will tell me how to test a wheel speed sensor. Would be good to know ohms on the sensor and voltage on the plug. Thanks, Ed
  3. There is a black six pin plug above the accelerator pedal with two small black wire probes tape to it. You turn the key off, insert a probe in pin 6 (ushaped plug, lower right hole when u is up), turn the key on, count the long and short flashes. Look up the code. Mine was a 56 abonormal voltage output from G sensor. Thanks to Rod a Lithia Subaru, Oregon City, Parts. Ed
  4. My obdII code reader sez no trouble codes. I have heard there is a plug I hook a wire to and read the abs light blinks. Thanks for the thought. Ed
  5. How do I pull abs codes on a 98 legacy outback wagon. It appears to have the 5.3i abs system. My sensors have been cleaned and I have checked the front two for resistance and gap. Light comes on after short drive.
  6. Does anyone know where the plug is to pull the abs codes? Thanks, I got it. Ed
  7. I adusted the new tps and the car runs good at idle and still has the hesitation problem. To make things worse I now have an ABS light. I cleaned the sensors and the teeth on the rotor and check the gaps. No luck. I looked for the plug under the dash above the accelerator pedal and couldnt find a 6 conductor test plug to read the abs codes. Does anyone know where it is and what it looks like on a 98 obw ltd? Im beginning to think it has something to do with the viscous coupler. I feel a minor bind that feels kind of like a poor ujoint when driving straight. The rear wheels turn free and all the brake pads and rotors look true. Tranny doesnt always shift down causing lugging. I need to read those codes. Ideas?
  8. Well I took it to the dealer and they suggested I change the TPS. I changed the TPS and the torque bind thing went away. I still have a hesitation problem and and exhaust leak at the resonator. I will weld up the broken pipe and think about it. I have no codes. I have changed plugs, wires, pcv valve, air cleaner, cleaned throttle body, ingested carbon remover thru a vacuum port, and have commercial fuel system cleaner in the tank with 92 octane. I put a washer under the knock sensor. After about 1500 rpm it comes alive and recovers its power. Tranny shifting is better except at low rpm. Im open to ideas.
  9. Im having binding problems and the dealer wants to remove and rebuild the viscous coupler. The solenoid is ok so I can expect the worst. I would rather replace the entire unit with a rebuilt one if I could locate one for less than the 1200.00 bid from subaru. The tranny is fine. Thanks, Ed
  10. I need to replace the tranfer case on my 98 outback automatic. What years and models will interchange? Will a 96 impreza tranfer case fit a 98 legacy?
