    Help I bought a 2000 Forester S (manual) about a year and half ago. Previous owner took emaculate care of the vehicle. The car now has 33,000 miles and for the past month its been acting up. 1. Gas mileage is way down 2. Acceleration is poor 3. There is a 'coughlike' noise when I shift, particularly in lower gears. I'm not car savvy and the best way I can describe this is that the car literally sounds like it has a cold. I love the ol' Soob and want to keep her running for years to come, any suggestions on what this is and what I need to do to take of this problem? Thanks.
