  1. The rear washer on my 97 Outback wagon leaks whenever I accelerate. The pump (which is located up front) works fine whenever I push the button on the control stalk. I've traced the tubing all the way to the back and into the tailgate and can't see any reason why it continues to leak water when under pressure. I talked to the dealer who thought it might have been a faulty pump, so I replaced that over the weekend. Still it leaks. I've looked at the wiper unit (on the rear) and to my untrained eyes it appears that the water simply passes through. Does anyone know if there is a pressure valve or something on the outside that might have fallen off and lets the water through? For the time being I have the nozzle plugged with some silicon - which seems to have done the trick - but I would like to get it fixed and working properly
