  1. My '92 Loyale also "stays" very "cool" with the needle about an 1/8 inch above the C even after driving the car on the highway. My first thought was that a previous owner had removed the thermostat... Ben
  2. This happened to me too this morning! Imagine this : family of 4 in Sunday best going Halloween shopping. Goes all the way to the store, finds out that the store opens at 11am, goes back to the car. And nothing works! It turns out that the battery cable did not have a good contact with the battery terminal post. The AAA guy used a knife to scratch off the crud and the car started. I got an earful from my wife about buying that piece of @#$@#%. Oh well. I took advantage of the 0% sales tax day at OSH to get a new battery. I'll cleaning out the contacts etc this afternoon. Ben
  3. Guys, thanks for all the responses. I'll try some of the gunk removal stuff the next time I do an oil change. Ben
  4. Hi! I just signed up this morning. After 2 months of ownership, I traded my 1989 Celica GT-S for a 92 Loyale and frankly, I'm more excited about the Loyale than I was about the Celica. My question this morning is whether the 92 Loyales (1.8L) engine need valve lash adjustments. Mine has a tapping noise when the engine starts up cold. If valve lash adjustment is necessary, is there a webpage with the details? I've done this kind of adjustments in the past on a VW Bug but don't want to assume that the two engines are similar :-) Thanks. Ben
