  2. im hooking up a boost gauge. what hose do i need to tap into, to run a line from it to the gauge? wheres this hose located. after i get the gauge on, can i have my ECU reset somewhere to boost more PSI, or do i need a boost controller?
  3. im not spending 200 + on a catless DP, i plan on gutting the pipe soon. I know theres not much to this, but just incase, does anyone have step by step directions so i know im doing everything correctly?
  4. instead of buying a elbow , i just cut the silencer in half under the elbow on it, hooked it back to the car, this worked for me, sure i have a hole in the elbow inside the fender but fender air is just as good as the air entering the snorkle,, and im getting air from both places now instead of just one. its prolly the easiest way of doing this. if u dont mind cutting up the silencer
  5. i could look for some pictures, i cant really take them myself, the silencer is in the fender, so. im thinking the way the silencer wrks is the air enters the snorkle at the front of the car into the silencer where it circulates, then i think the intake more sucks the air in instead of the air just being blown into it, its not like this removing the intake silencer adds any power, maybe i should put it back on, i can live without hearing everything spool up and what not. ill look for something tho to give u a better idea

I am wanting to do a turbo upgrade. i was debating between the VF34 and VF20 or is it 22, well ive decided i want the 34, do any of you on here have a used one that will still run for a good period of time. or do any of you no where i can get a cheap one, i prefer a new one but i cant afford that, how much do they run for?
  7. i just removed the intake silencer and used a PVC pipe to run from the fender into the air box getting rid of that inch gap between the fender wall and air box. the ram air, snorkle hole, whatever it is, im planning on covering it to keep the warm air from the engine being able to get in there, or if if any of you have any other ideas? i no i can buy an elbow to use the snorkle but that cost 30 dollars, if thats the way you think i should go, then ill throw on a homemade elbow to fit. i was also wondering, if i cut the inake silence under the two holes that connect the snorkle and air box, i would then have an elbow there but without a bottom. could i then use the air from the snorkle and air from the fender without any turbulance or problems, this is the way really want to go and if i get your guys 2sence in saying it will still work and safe, ill do it. any replies would be great ,thanks
  8. thats what ill look for then. i live north of Indianapolis like 100 miles, theres nothing out here except for corn and beans, meaning to find a junkyard that might have this, ill have to go to Indy, hopefully Lafayette IN, will have one.

  10. to ODDCOMP only at 10 PSI? i thought stock turbo for a WRX was already at 12 or 13, thats what ive always been told, even from people that werent on the last crappy board i was at. Is that wrong? if so what is the stock WRX PSI?

I have a friend with a MR2 , the guys on his board all told him to thrrow on a MBC , the guys on the old WRX forum i was at all said not to do it, the risk of spiking is to great. but why is it any different from the MR2s and WRXs , i mean if all these guys have them on their cars and dont have any problems, wouldnt that be the same with me, if i do it correctly? and if you guys dont have any bad thoughts of the MBC and think i should go for it, what PSI do you recomend setting it at, my thoughts were either 16.5 or 17. again any comment would be greatly appreciated.
  12. thanks, im not like a big brain on this stuff, but some of the things the people from this other board were saying just didnt make any sence at all. this is why i decided to jump on this board and hopefully things will work out better.
  13. whats going on, im new to this forum, i recently bought a 02 wrx and im readyg to do mods to it. im low on money so this is whats first. im gutting the down pipe(free mod) and ive heard of removing the intake silencer. but with that, some said by removing it, the restriction of air flow decreases so much the turbo is pointles and can be removed. others said keep the turbo on the car which is what i want to do. finally, my question is this, can i still remove the silencer and gain any HP what so ever without any chances of running into problems. Or is the only gain from removing silencer the louder sound coming from the BOV? any adavice on what to do would be greatly appreciated, thanks
