  1. I can't believe this thread is still getting responses. funny.BTW- i like the running lights now after having the car for 5 weeks. i still don't think it is anyone elses business whether i use them or not. your free to post your opinions and i'm free to ignore them.
  2. i have a new 2004 forester XT and i have a small vibration stopped at an intersection. it comes and goes. it is only when i'm stopped. i am running 93 octane since day one so that won't help. steve
  3. Do you plan on driving over 118 mph? N 87 mph 140 km/h Temporary Spare Tires P 93 mph 150 km/h Q 99 mph 160 km/h Studless & Studdable Winter Tires R 106 mph 170 km/h H.D. 4. i found what it is. thanks anyway. for anyone else interested here is a write up. steve http://www.drivesubaru.com/Sum04_QuickStops.htm
  5. LOL. that is pretty funny that the immobilizer comes standard but the security system does not. i am looking at upgrading the keyless entry to a subaru security system.this site has them for $136 but i'm not sure how difficult the installation is. i'm pretty mechanically inclined.http://subaru.autowebaccessories.com/store/prod181_201_1345.php
  6. this is the tire that came with my new turbo forester. i looked up the tire at tirerack.com and they give the tire below average ratings on just about everything. anyone have any actual experience and feedback on the tire? thanks! Steve
  7. i saw the list of features for 2005 foresters and they list an Engine Immobilizer as standard. i can't find any reference to it in the owners manual. are we talking about some type of security feature? thanks, steve
  8. look in the mirror. who asked anyone of you your opinion on whether i should turn them off or not. mind your own business. so they can't be turned off. fine. leave it at that but stop with the bull **** lectures on why i shouldn't turn them off. i never asked and i don't care about your opinion.
  9. Brian, I didn't ask if I should use them or not. I asked how to turn them off. Free country dude, so if i don't want to leave them on it is my business. there are a lot of cars on the road that don't even have DRL. when it is a super bright sunny day and i'm wearing sunglasses because i'll be blinded otherwize i don't think i need lights on. my personal choice. this cracks my up how everyone is so patienant about daytime running lights. Steve
  10. i am a new turbo forester owner and wondering if you can turn the daytime running lights off and how? i didn't see anything in the manual. i thought there was something wrong with the car. lights were turned to off but they are still on. what gives? i sold my beloved tacoma double cab and picked up the turbo forester 2004. i went for a test drive and really had no intention on buying the car. i just could not believe the acceleration this car had. i had so much fun i knew i had to have the car. i purchased it that night. i know that the forester is suppose to be a family suv but this thing is 100% sports car driving it. i'm loosing sleep at night because i can't wait to drive it the next day. i think i got a pretty good deal. paid about $400 below invoice.
