Hi,
I've just got a new Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon and it's a lovely car. However,
there's one issue: when the car is not moving, but the engine is working(in
neutral)I feel slight vibrations in the stick-shift and occasionally in my seat. These are very fast and gentle vibrations.
Actually I believe I can feel them when the car is moving too. I took it to the Service Dpt at the dealership and the mechanic believes it's normal and most probably because I got the car with 87-octane gas when I bought it (it's supposed to be 92). The engine seems to be running smooth and the RPMs are steady.
I really don't like this, is it indeed normal ? I don't remember feeling it in the car I test-drove
i have a new 2004 forester XT and i have a small vibration stopped at an intersection. it comes and goes. it is only when i'm stopped. i am running 93 octane since day one so that won't help.

Do you plan on driving over 118 mph?I own a 98 Forester S, which is in need of new tires. I'm considering the Michelin Hydro Edge 215/60R16 which will replace the original Yokohama tires of the same size. The only concern that I have is that the Michelin tires have a T speed rating which is step down from the original H rating of the Yokohamas which were installed on the Forester when new. My question is whether the lower speed rated tires will create a problem? Two tire shops say that it won't be a problem but a third won't install a lower speed rated tire.I am aware of the fact that the 98 Subaru model L came with 205/70R15 tires with an S speed rating and I'm not aware that the suspension on the two models differed. I would appreciate your opinion.

LOL. that is pretty funny that the immobilizer comes standard but the security system does not. i am looking at upgrading the keyless entry to a subaru security system.this site has them for $136 but i'm not sure how difficult the installation is. i'm pretty mechanically inclined.http://subaru.autowebaccessories.com/store/prod181_201_1345.php

this is the tire that came with my new turbo forester. i looked up the tire at tirerack.com and they give the tire below average ratings on just about everything. anyone have any actual experience and feedback on the tire? thanks! Steve

i saw the list of features for 2005 foresters and they list an Engine Immobilizer as standard. i can't find any reference to it in the owners manual. are we talking about some type of security feature? thanks, steve

look in the mirror. who asked anyone of you your opinion on whether i should turn them off or not. mind your own business. so they can't be turned off. fine. leave it at that but stop with the bull **** lectures on why i shouldn't turn them off. i never asked and i don't care about your opinion.

Why not do everybody else on the road a favor, and just leave them on? There is a reason they are on the car.

Brian,
I didn't ask if I should use them or not. I asked how to turn them off. Free country dude, so if i don't want to leave them on it is my business. there are a lot of cars on the road that don't even have DRL. when it is a super bright sunny day and i'm wearing sunglasses because i'll be blinded otherwize i don't think i need lights on. my personal choice.
this cracks my up how everyone is so patienant about daytime running lights.

i am a new turbo forester owner and wondering if you can turn the daytime running lights off and how? i didn't see anything in the manual. i thought there was something wrong with the car. lights were turned to off but they are still on. what gives?
i sold my beloved tacoma double cab and picked up the turbo forester 2004. i went for a test drive and really had no intention on buying the car. i just could not believe the acceleration this car had. i had so much fun i knew i had to have the car. i purchased it that night. i know that the forester is suppose to be a family suv but this thing is 100% sports car driving it. i'm loosing sleep at night because i can't wait to drive it the next day. i think i got a pretty good deal. paid about $400 below invoice.
can you turn off daytime running lights?
