[Alternative tires?]

I have 195/60R15 tires on my 99 Legacy

Can I fit 195/65R15 tires please?

[Speedometers Legacy and Outback]

My 99 Legacy speedometer is intermittent.

It sometimes springs into action when the windshield washer button is

pressed a few times, or sometimes when the odometer reset is pressed. Other

owners have had same symptoms, also on 99 Outbacks.

Cruise works OK.

Is there a cure avoiding replacement please?

No - many of the heads are unique.

 

For example my 96 Legacy Speedometer (white pointers in cluster) will not be interchangeable with my 99 Legacy (red pointers). Check part numbers carefully with Subaru Dealer.

[99 and 98 Speedometers on Legacy?]

I am brand new to this group but my cars are not brand new.

I have been so pleased with my 96 Legacy I have just bought an additional 99 to keep it company. The speedometer often does not register on the 99. When it fails the odometer fails but the cruise continues to work.

Is there any difference between 99 and 98 Legacy Speedometers please?

(Other than that the 99 cluster has red pointers and the 96 has white).

I can get 95-98 clusters on ebay but no luck with 99.

(I note that my Haynes Manual 'stops' at 98)?
