  1. I have found replacements online at different parts stores only about 3-4 dollars a piece such as http://www.autopartsauthority.com/thanks Bill
  2. Thanks for the info, I am trying to decide about doing the work myself or not. My wife laughs at me about my enthusiasm about my "new" car.
  3. Hello, I bought this 83 Subaru GL. Great little car. I was tired of paying for boring new cars. It has a severely leaking power steering rack, I can get a rebuilt rack for a 85-92 Subaru XT, XT6 XT, w/ 4cyl. eng off of ebay looks good, do you think it would work? By the way I am enthused about this car over 200,000, not blowing any oil, purrs like a kitten. The engine design is very intriguing. I have never seen one like it before. I have always worked on my cars but they were usually domestic(Fords). Of course my first car an 83 ford escort never made it pass 110,000. Now there is some work to be done. Like the Power Steering, Also the clutch slips, and there is a oil leak or maybe two somewhere. A couple of other questions on the trunk it is marked as a GL-10 would that be right? When I first go to start the car it seems to take a while to start I had someone turn it over while I looked into the carb and gas seems to be slow about getting into the carb, bad fuel pump, fuel filter? After it starts though it will run all day without a problem until I shut it off, then again it is a little tempermental about starting. And if I have to change the clutch and do some tuning on the engine should I just pull the engine? The other work entails oil pan gasket, valve adjustment, oil pump replacement. Another question, the carb. is a weber carter I thought they were only used on automatics in 83, am I wrong? Thank you for your time. I know I will probably have more questions, because I am hoping to get this engine to 400,000+ and I really think it will make it. 1983 Subaru GL, 1800, 5-speed, 2wd
