  1. midwest salt took alot of it away more than the pictures indicated, oil all over too... I was hoping for a 600 turn key car to take home (which I knew wasnt likely). anyways, I guess I'll stick to my other two project whips. cheers.
  2. Well, exhaust was rusted through, needed new tires all around. battery was toast. I didn't want to have to put 4-500 into just to get it on the road. I had to pass
  3. Thats what I'm thinking. From digging around on the forum, it looks like another user was asking about this... he must of passed? Anyways, more to follow.
  4. So I'm going to look at a potential wagon after work. Its an 86 Gl Wagon, runs and drives, 110k, asking 625.00 I see no reason in hell not to buy it? Please talk me into or dare I say talk me out of it.
  5. I would love to if there is a way to do it.
  6. I had a potential parts car slip away here in NE. I've been really hunting for a windshield since then. I've blasted through old post, but if there is any new hidden insight, I would love to know.
  7. Awesome, thanks for the help. I have yet to check, but I assume if the bottom mounting is the same (like in your picture) then they should be the same strut type. (keeping my fingers crossed)
  8. So lets say if I can use these macpherson struts, but find out my srping is damaged on my old struts, where would I find a replacement one? I'm just anticipating the worst when I dig into this job...
  9. Great, I'll have to scope it out.
  10. I'm sort of confused on this thread. Will those KYB GR2 struts work for a Gen 1 brat? I've been on the hunt for a while...Will I have to pull the struts on my brat first and find out if they'll work?
  11. Now that I double checked on the rear shocks, they are for gen 2 brats... I found a link through an old thread. http://classicgarage.com/subbratrears.html
  12. So I have been learning that finding Gen1 Brat struts are very hard to find. I did see in an earlier thread that someone suggested rebuilding them (having someone do this). Has anyone done this? The weather is warming up, and my first task is replacing the rear shocks , and hopefully getting to the front struts...
  13. I'm not to certain actually. I'm waiting for warmer days here to dig into mine.
  14. Awesome, and I figured out the problem! Thanks a ton for sharing
  15. Is there one around the web that is visible? Both my turn signals stoped working (but hazzards work) and now the headlights both are out (at the same time). I'm trying to find a schematic and locate which fuse is for what. One of the 25A fuses was smoked, and I replaced it but still no lights. My voltmeter gives me continuity on every part of the fuse strip.
  16. The weather is nice this weekend. We'll see if I add a post to the parts wanted thread :-\
  17. The locks on both of my doors don't work. I have yet to dig into the panel and try to fix them. It got me thinking, has anyone ever installed some powered locks into their Brat? Seems like it could be fun/easy?
  18. So the handle on my Brat's tailgate has been broken. By broken I mean that the material on the right side of the handle just broke right off. The left side is intact, but not the right. Anyone have any quick fix ideas. Later down the line I might try and keep my eyes out for a recycled handle and linkage? For now I was thinking maybe some contact cement would hold the break?
