  1. Will check the cooler lines. Hope not the input seal. Thanks for the comments.
  2. Hello all Replaced the engine in my 97 Outback with a 2.2lt from a 95 Legacy. Standard trans to an automatic. Finally sorted out the engine rough idling issue. But now, trans fluid is leaking from below. Lots. Seal? Has anyone else have these issues. Did I damage a seal in the trans when I installed the engine? Thanks
  3. Could I take the egr intake manifold off the 97 2.5lt and put it on the 95 2.2lt engine? Then hook up a hose to pull a vacuum to fool the egr into thinking it is on the 97? Thanks
  4. Anyone out there for a challenge? Swapped out engines. I put a 1995 Legacy Wagon 2.2lt engine, (standard trans.), and put it into a 1997 Outback, (auto trans.). It had the 2.5lt, double overhead cam engine, with a blown head gasket. The ECM I am using is for the 1997, the 2.2lt engine needs the EGR valve assembly head. Is there anyway to reprogram the ECM to run the standard trans engine in an automatic? The old ECM from the 2.2lt does not work, or an ECM from a standard trans 1997. Anyone know of someone who can reprogram the chip? Otherwise, it's just fix the 1997 engine and reinstall. Thanks Ron
  5. Hi all Need help. I put a 1995 Subaru Legacy Wagon 2.2lt standard trans engine into a 1997 Subaru Outback wagon. It had a 2.5lt double overhead cam, auto trans with a head gasket problem. Need the correct ECM for the 2.2lt to run correctly. Everything fit well, including the auto trans flex plate and torque converter. It runs at higher rpm's, but does not idle at all. Any help would be appreciated!
