  1. ivans imports. Thanks that's useful information. I had another car of this vintage where the fuel pump wouldn't run with the key in run, unless the engine was running, but the fuel pump would run in start. Thanks Simon
  2. I pulled to motor out of my brat to clean up the engine compartment and the motor. Now I've put it all back together and it won't start. At this point I can't get the fuel pump to run. If I put power directly to the pump it operates. If I put power to the wire from the voltage regulator to the fuel pump it operates. With the Key in the off position one wire to the voltage regulator has power. when the key is in the run position three of the wires have power. Regardless of key position the fuel pump doesn't run, even in the start position. Is my voltage regulator bad? What other things should I check? Any help would be great. Thanks Simon
  3. I'm replacing all the coolant hoses on my 1979 Brat. Coming out of the top of the motor there is a small hose that the DPO had plugged with a bolt. If I blow compressed air into this hose the air comes out the coolant passages. Since the only other coolant hose of this size goes from the heater hoses to the base of the carb, via the intake manifold. I don't know where this other hose should connect. Does anyone know where this hose should go? Thanks
  4. I was able to buy Monroe 33097 shocks for the rear of my 1979 brat from Sears.com for $14.59 each plus shipping. http://www.sears.com/monroe-shocks-struts-33097-monro-matic-plus-shock/p-SPM890425114?sLevel=0&redirectType=SKIP_LEVEL I was also able to buy Subaru part# 721032260 front struts for my brat from SubaruParts.com for $118.76 each plus shipping. The Part number on the old struts from my brat is 621052270, when I entered this at SubaruParts.com it was superseeded by part# 721032260. http://www.subaruparts.com/cart/?pn=621052270 Both the shocks and the struts have been installed on the brat and made a huge improvement over the old worn out stuff.
