Anyone in the Seattle area.
I'm looking at buying an XT6 for parts. The car has an engine minus ALT, power steering pump. I have no interest in the engine nor the interior nor body panels (maybe the hood). I want the manual AWD transmission, pedal box and other misc. stuff. I drove out to look it over already.
However, I would have to tow it with my Subru from Wenatche to Lynnwood. I have no trailer nor tow hitch. I do not want to tow it behind my car with a tow strap since I'm pretty sure I'd have to disconnect the drive lines.
I am willing to buy the car and for helping me get it to my house, give away any parts that I don't need. Like I said I'm interested in the transmission. I figure an XT6 engine is worth it.
Please PM me if you have any interest or need more info.
I don't suppose the engine is carburated? and functional? and will it work in a GL or DL?

yeah, I know it's going to have to come off so I can do the gasket. this is a 86 EA82 SPFI. I had a line on a pair of known good heads but i suffered a catastrophic email meltdown and lost the guy in oregon's email address

Ok, I'm looking at my wifes soob, i'm getting exhaust gas into the cooling system, is there any way to tell with a compression gauge if it's a blown head gasket or cracked head? or am I gonna have to strip the engine out and pull the heads and have them pressure tested?

>question quality of parts
>CHAMPION is crap, use NGK
>fuel? sensors? timing?
Napa -gold- plugwires, Echlin cap and rotor, NGK plugs
Seems to be getting fuel, and I've tried using a little starting fluid on it, no luck...
Not sure on the timing, can't find my timing light

Ok, wife tried doing me a favor this weekend, and I'm at my wits end
She went to a local car parts place and got a friend of hers who works there to help her change the cap, rotor, plugs, plugwires and air filter.
They put the plug wires on wrong, and tried to start it up...
it backfired once and just continued cranking.
I've got the wires in the right location and firing orders,
I've tested for spark, and though it seems a wee bit weak it's there, and the car was running with this coil before.
the cap and rotor seem to be the right ones, and with a timing light I verified that I'm getting spark through all of the plug wires.
the old cap was rusty in one tower, and well carboned inside.
This is a 87 GL wagon, 4WD 5SP manual, SPFI...
