  1. G'day guys I have recently rebuilt my ea81 I broke a bolt in my manifold so I had to replace that. Ever since I did I had been misfiring after it was warmed up which was about 5 mins after driving... I changed the coil and resistor and it seemed to have fixed the problem. For about 45 minutes anyway of driving. It's not doing it anywhere near as bad as before I changed the coil and it only does it after a good half hour. It's not pinging lets make that clear... I can pull the choke out a bit and sometimes makes it stop for a few seconds which leads me to think she is hungry for more fuel. But why does it start doing it after some time of driving and not right away??? I've put new plugs and leads and all tested fine. I've checked all bolts to be tightened and vacuum hoses all check out ok. I changed the EGR valve to check if that was the problem but still no good. It doesn't matter how soft or hard I am driving it will still do it. It doesn't misfire at all when idling. Let me know what you guys think because I may be missing something. Any more info you guys will need to know I will answer as soon as I can The carby has been rebuilt. (Professionally) and am wondering if it needs to be tuned in some sort. The next step for me will be taking it to the carby shop because I have literally checked everything !!!
  2. The blokes here to get info. Not get a history lesson on your damn life.
  3. Just an update. The build is now done Drives like a new car .
  4. Well currently rebuilding the engine. The carb is getting rebuilt as we speak and the heads are at the machine shop... Just keep it mostly stock and enjoy her
  5. It's just a UHT engine enamel blue. I will see if it has a code for the colour when I'm out in the shed next.
  6. I wanted to get an overall idea of what it was going to look like so I slapped the parts on. Apart from that alternator im pretty happy with the blue I chose. The heads will soon be sent off and the carby is currently getting rebuilt
  7. Looks good, id probably pay more for that... Get it. Like you said they are just to hard to come by these days
  8. Yeah I rarely see them where I am in adelaide Australia and if I do they are rough as anything!!
  9. yeah that sunvisor was added by the dealer as an aftermarket option for the original owner. pretty cool
  10. I should probably explain it is the australian version of the touring wagon.
  11. Thought I would put some pics up of my wagon. Ausubaru members would have seen this already. I bought from an elderly one owner. it has 147000 kms on the clock. am currently rebuilding the stock ea81 and giving it a freshen up. Will stay stock and just use as a weekend cruiser. Its in too good condition to mess with. All I have done is paint up the white 13s I got and put some chrome wheel trim on them.]
