  1. yeah, deleted phone, added back and certain contacts simply arent there so assume it is how they are entered on the galaxy 5, something to do with gmail or something way too complicated to deal with
  2. I have the 2014 Outback which had an iphone 5 attached, I deleted the iphone that i had on there which had all phone-book contacts as now I bought Samsung Galaxy 5 and the contacts came to it via my gmail account, but not all the contacts on the new phone transferred to the car and one of them it will call but when it dials it cuts off, weird. but if I call that contact by calling out the number it is fine, it is just when i say his name it stops midway thru. It may be that I added one or two of the contacts to the new Galaxy after I linked the new phone to the car, so now when i start up it doesnt transfer the new contacts, i did hit button transfer data, nothing happens. I guess I could delete the phone entirely, add it back and see if they are all on there? Is that OK, I can do that anytime I want, right, and it will always ask to transfer phone book each time, right?
  3. I just bought one, have several tweaking questions about things like navigation, for instance is there a way to program it so it beeps you when you are at the turn spot, i.e. in my explorer when you got right up to the street to turn onto you heard two beeps which always means turn... For instance hands free voice commands, is there a novice vs experienced set of commands so you dont have to hear it say all those things like call in progress etc? Other questions, but I wasnt sure if this forUm had many new owners or not or if there are other Subaru forums out there, any help is appreciated. Also note that in my Special appearance pkg/eyesight/moonroof/nav Outback Limited, the drivers seat bottom portion is noticebaly springier and softer than the passenger seat bottom portion, i think it is because whoever drove it 300 miles (dealer trade) was overweight and a spring is already broken, if anyone tells me they make the seats differently, that will be meaningful, but i cant see that... Remind me to ask you about keyless start keyless access where opening the drivers door wont open others, but opening passenger door does, which is of course backwards of the common sense way it should work and there seems to be no way to change that programming...
  4. cool, i will get car later today, salesman just texted me that there are 4 places to charge my phone and 3 of them are in front cabin, i will believe it when i see it, one will be nice...one of the reasons I started this was someone somewhere said that the IPHONE ONLY could not be CHARGED with the usb port, if they have the ac outlet like my current car does then no problem, we will see
  5. finding out likely it ONLY has 12 v adapter and ONLY in cargo area, would have to run wire up to front cabin, ridiculous, probably deal killer for me, i have not bought it yet, i did give them a $500 dep as it is a dealer trade, i better be able to get that back
  6. thanks, what I am hearing is their usb port wont work with iphone, insane but true...if no ac outlet then i need to do the old fashioned way as you say, i always heard that way of charging was bad for the battery
  7. I have an ac outlet in explorer now so as to charge my iphone, am i reading that my outback (special appearance package, nav/eyesight etc) does not have that ability ?? is there no ac outlet or usb port to charge iphones? help
  8. So so so many questions, will buy either Outback or Forrester very soon 1. i read that the Forrester has a better ride, feel, etc., i drove both and maybe I agree but hard to know for sure, which drives smoother? 2. I read in Consumer Reports many folks complain about ease of use of Navigation, I am going to need to use it frequently, what is the problem? I am used to the My sync ford nav which is voice activated and pretty easy to use 3. i will be getting eyesight as my ford has blind spot monitor and cruise control that will BOTH speed up and slow down based on traffic, does eyesight do that? thanks, i will be buying within 5 days and will probably have to do dealer trade so I need to know what to do
