  1. so finally got some time to tinker with the brat and pulled the wires while it was running and everything checks out that way so I'm thinking maybe order up a jetting kit from weber? seems the only problem is when its hit operating temp and something changes right when it gets to temp, seems like mixture is off just on idle would an idle jet potentially fix this? also has some dieseling problems does anyone have a link to an anti dieseling part i can't find one? Thanks a bunch
  2. I'm positive it's not the plugs just put a new set in even tho the others only had a couple hundred miles on them all looked good on color, 99% sure plugs are in right order and the timing is set to ten according to the usmb recommendations. Will pull wires tonight and see if one is getting cut out, it almost seems like it's either flooding out or leaning out at idle I have the regulator set a 2 as well will update after work tonight.
  3. Ok so I've been sprucing up this brat I bought and threw a brand new weber on it and can't pinpoint my issue, when I start the car I set the electric choke turn the key runs perfect idling at about 1200 to 1300 rpms kick off the choke runs great and purrs at 800 rpm. So the problem comes into effect when it hits operation temp the idle kicks down and sounds like it's running on three cylinders, almost like it has a loppy cam or something. It picks up fine when you give it gas usually, sometimes a hair of hesitation. So things I've changed thus far, new plugs, wires, distributor, alternator, fuel filters, oil filter, fuel reg all were oem stuff. Weber was tuned best lean idle and no vac leaks I could find, any suggestions on things to check into?
  4. Ya that red one was pretty nice kinda kicking myself for selling it lol black one I just picked up in asotin for two grand and only has 148,000 original and less rust just needs paint really
  5. Oh shoot now that I've seen you profile pick I recognize that white brat you live in the house just as you leave from boville not gonna lie I've slowed down to check it out when I deliver to the department of transportation out there, that's a clean little brat you've got.
  6. Mostly looking to make it a good looking pavement pounder with the clearance for the Idaho winters, that's my only complaint on the subaru is they will go anywhere unless they get high centered.lol not to into wheeling as it will be my daily and when I want to hit the trails I just jump on my honda 450x I prefer to do 50 mph flying compared to 5mph crawling IMO
  7. So I will be in the market for a 4" lift for an 84 brat trying to filter thru who actually make lifts for these still most of the post I've looked at are a little dated. looking to keep stock geometry for sure. Anyways let me know guys thanks!
  8. Ya I'm usually truckin around in the brat usually it's parked out in front of Culligan where I work what do you drive? There's about two or three other brats in town too that I've seen
  9. Hey everyone lurked on the forum for a while now figured id just throw up a post. This forum is so informative and has helped me with my brats on more than one occasion. Here is a pic of my first brat that i actually ended up selling to superbrat little over a year ago. The second is my current project that i just got done swapping to a weber. Planning on four inch lift, wheels, tires and paint maybe weld up some tube bumpers and canopy rack. Anyways thanks for looking.
