I'm going thru this right now to. ('89 DL) The only way I could get the fan out was to remove the dash. This took most of the day. Of course I was highly motivated because I'm trying to track down why my heater doesn't work, and I need to replace some bulbs in the instrument cluster. I'll see if I can post a pic of my fan. John

Hey All! interesting! wish i'd seen this thread prior to installing my new water pump; after exchanging it twice, and still not having the right height, i installed longer bolts from the back side with jam nuts. i then used washers to space the pulley out correctly, and fastened with nylok nuts. seems to be working so far. '89 DL with A/C JOHN

Hello! A couple months ago, my nephew gave me his '89 Subaru DO wagon. It was running when parked, but had cooling system issues and had become a mouse condo! I replaced the cooling system, tuned it, evicted the mice and have been driving it some! I have to say, so far the little car has impressed me! Seems reasonably easy to work on and has some unique features! I'll have some technical questions, but I'll save those for the appropriate board. Glad to be here! John
