so pictures are uploaded below the new engine has two bolts sticking out of the back as well as the trans how would i work with that and also how can i tell what year the engine is

hey guys so as of this moment ive ben making progress i decided to go with the 2.5 figured i keep it stock i got the engine off ebay payed 1099.99 and free shipping so hope all works great price in my opinion well i have the engine wraped up in plastic and covered with a tarp till i can get out there and check it out its dark here so so dont wana go messing with it rite now but i really want to lol new radiator came in also im gonna ask for a lil help on some things when i pulled the engine origionally i noticed there were no wires connected to the terminals on the bat if anyone could help with what exactly goes to the bat and where they end up on the engine and so forth would be nice :0 ima get some piks up soon hope its looking good

hey guys and gals ok so i have some questions.. pretty sure they have ben answered plenty of times but easier for me to make my own thread for it i have a 1999 subaru legacy gt with a 2.5 bought it for my wife got a great price $500 for it and i knew befor getting it motor didnt run after pulling the engine i realized there was a fist sized hole in the top where a rod had come throught so ive ben looking around for a while for a new 2.5 seeing this is my first subaru figured i put the origional engine back in and up to this point im thinking of going with the 2.2 im going to be heading out to the you pull parts place this weekend im going to see if i can get a 2.2 is there any special one i need that will just plug and play and do i need to change any computer stuff or anything like that .. thanks for reading know its quite a bit thanks in advance
