  1. Spfi. 2 oil pumps come with it and I have the parts to reseal. no flywheel or clutch or alt
  2. I wouldnt rtv anything. The outer bolts are inch pounds torque but dont remember the value.
  3. I have an ea82 in my garage that has to go. The heads just got rebuilt and resurfaced and lots of other New things. New water pump all New seals and gaskets New head gaskets. Basically I under torqued the heads and had slight leaking but now I cant finish the motor swap because I got a county letter about hazardous materials and blah blah. Im in woodburn Oregon pm for pics or to come take a look
  4. I used the Haynes manual for the torque sequence.. Did it exact, even numbered each bolt before starting.. Ill have to check the soft plugs but I had this motor out and focused as much as possible during head install so I cant see soft plugs slipping by me. They were resurfaced but I never checked the straightness myself
  5. Well guys, just to update you on the progress.. Wet plugs, slight loss of coolant and white oil.. Guess my headgaskets didnt seal. I had a very bad feeling about using the same bolts and blah blah but something went wrong somewhere. Maybe that fix a leak stuff will seal it?? If not putting old motor with just New seals. Now im off to punt newborn babies into the forest
  6. What is driving me nuts is the fact that I have already done this before to another loyale. But this time I was patient and very thorough and im having problems. first time was cake
  7. I have done everything that I can think of. Im about ready to sell it and take a major loss. Please more replies I need any and all suggestions!!
  8. I can get it to start but I have to hold down on the gas and it will run like crap and smoke and then die out.. I did the work myself I did HG's, seals heads were reworked and all.. Im 100% positive that I did everything correctly.. Both cams 180 from eachother and ditsy is in at the correct location. I cant figure this out its driving me nuts.. I did take the TPS off during rebuild but I marked its location when putting it back. No vac leaks that I can find, im assuming temp sensor is working
  9. Ea82 spfi 1991 loyale 4wd. Sorry im use to my jeep forum that states what vehicle you have every post. Anyway that could be the Case but I had blue smoke. Thpught black would be flooded
  10. Ok guys I installed a rebuilt engine and when I go to fire it it wont start. But if I hold the gas down it will start and run like crap and then die... Blueish smoke and bad smell. No codes.. I briefly had crank angle code but it went away after some fooling around. Any ideas? Everything is hooked up properly except some random black wire coming from the harness.. I grounded to chassis. No codes.. Again if I give gas I get a start but runs rough and dies
  11. I removed flywheel from one engine to put on another but I have no idea where to line up the crank to install the flywheel. Please help
  12. Isnt there some kind of special way to have them resurfaced? Thought I read something like that at one time
  13. Im new to the forum and I know I could have searched to find answers to the majority of my questions but I am at work and I get terrible service. Hopefully somebody will be generous and answer these. 91 loyale wagon 4wd, 223,000 miles on engine. I will be doing head gaskets as well as all seals and gaskets.. Shocks, springs and all. 1. Do ea82 heads need machine work or rebuild or are they generally ok to use if they pass visual inspection? 2. What 5 speed fluid to use? I was told 75w90 but want confirmation. 3. Does and ea82 ac delete pulley or bracket for alt exist? AC does not work. 4. What is the best brand of axle to use? Adelco, duralast whatever. 5. Shifting catches thru the gears but I am low on trans fluid. Is that the cause? 6.Code 34 will not disappear even with a brand new solenoid. Normal? I have many more questions but I feel pressured by the clock. Back to work! Oh yeah and any Oregon guys that know these vehicles well please chime in
