Well the deal for the 98 fell through. The guy sold it from under me. But got a 95 impreza that has a 2.2 auto and fairly low mileage. Body is shot but runs and shifts great. Just got to figure out if I want to change the engine also.

Thanks for all the info. Im going to get the parts car this weekend. I have to drive it about 50 miles to get it home so i guess that will let me know if theres any issues with the tranny. Ill post and let you all know how the swap goes.

Thanks for the quick reply. What is the difference between phase 1 and phase2? I kinda figured that the rear carrier would be different. From what i found out the 98 is 411 and im not sure what the 93 has. So i was figuring that for safetys sake changing the rear also. Im getting the 98 as a running parts car the body is just rusted out. Any major electricial issues?

Just bought a 93 impreza sw 1.8 auto awd. The trans is slippping real bad in it. Having a difficult time finding a trans for it but i found a 98 impreza that the trans is good. I know that it will bolt up but will it work in the 93? What year trans will fit the 93?
